Life is Like a Wrinkled Shirt

April 29th, 2012 | Category: memories,Musings by Sharon

Good day everyone. You are looking and feeling wonderful!

I went to visit the lovely Rachel Riordan the creative woman who not only illustrated The Psychic Cottage website but has a wonderful blog called The Stay Lucky and sells her delightful art on her Etsy store called Thrasher and Wren.

She lives in Orono in this amazing house that oozes charm and creativity. You can see her house on her blog above and she is always in magazines.

To the point Sharon…..when I went to visit I  went into one of those little used clothing consignment shops and I’m not big on buying used clothes as I always think of the energy of the owner but I saw the most beautiful shirt for $5 I think and fell in love with it.

It was from Sacred Threads.

I love the 70’s and the whole hippy movement and the clothes. So original and pretty and bright and makes you think of love and happiness.

What I found out is that anything pretty usually requires a lot of work.

I washed it by hand and it didn’t look so pretty anymore. This was a squeeze test disaster. The squeeze test is what my sister the beautiful Lavender Lady does when you are out shopping with her. If she squeezes it for a moment or two and it wrinkles she isn’t buying it.

I don’t really have much that I iron. If I do it is probably a once worn disaster in a bag for ironing or I take it to the cleaners. I pulled out my ironing board which was my Mom’s I believe (I couldn’t part with it for some reason) and started ironing.

You know it was really fun and I had the feeling of a wonderful memories from childhood. I started thinking why would I have to iron in childhood? My Dad did construction and I don’t remember too many collared shirts. I was having great fun watching the wrinkles turn into a beautiful blouse and this energy spreading through me. I’m really good at it like how you fold the back collar so it gets ironed perfectly.

Then I thought, hey, my older brother worked in an office I hope I wasn’t ironing his shirts for years. Then I thought I am 53 and maybe everything was wrinkly back then. You know no perma press or something?

I remember too at home between the washer and dryer a huge bucket full of things that needed ironing.

Strange how all these funny things are coming up in my head probably the wonderful work that Dorothy Gagnon is doing with me.

What I’m getting at here is that life is a bit like pretty things that need Ironing. If you spend the time to honour your life and care for yourself and iron out all the little wrinkles  that come your way in a gentle loving manner you eventually see how beautiful you were all along.

What I Learned Today.

April 28th, 2012 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Afternoon Friends!

I didn’t really want to copy the format from this blog into my other blog on the Sugarmoon site so I have come up with a new ending instead of a quote called “What I Learned Today” so I thought I’d give you a sample.

What I learned today:

“I learned never to give up on something that you can do it. I kind of learned this yesterday but hey today tomorrow what’s the difference. I took a course in February on how to do websites. I was so flustered and really couldn’t figure it out. I so wanted to be able to understand but kind of surrendered to the place that its not for me and after whining from February to April hired someone to help me. After hiring someone to help me the place where I took the course phoned and asked me how I was doing and I said listen its not for me. They agreed kindly to spend another hour with me to help me figure out what it was that was making me so crazy. She said Sharon you are so close! I instantly thought of Florence Scovel Shinn how she talks about this when you give up it is usually just around the next corner that your success is there. I’m sure she said it much more eloquently. After the hour training and her explaining everything to me something clicked and I couldn’t stop working on the site having a delightful time. OK I still had to have certain things that were way beyond me done by the site provider but all in all I think I did pretty well.

So lesson learned was “never give up”.

Sugarmoon Cottage Is Almost Here!

April 27th, 2012 | Category: Exciting News

I’m sure you are all wondering what Sugarmoon Cottage is all about. It is the spin off off The Psychic Cottage dealing with a lot of fun stuff.

It will have a special blog about my getting over my crazy antics like clutter and weight loss and such.

I of course will keep my Psychic Cottage website as I love it so much and its perfect I just can’t run at the mouth all over it like I can on Sugarmoon Cottage.

I took a course on web design and it was quite frustrating but I have learned and I’m getting help to finish it off.

I think you are going to love it so stay tuned!

Call A Loved One

April 26th, 2012 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Welcome Everyone!

Tonight I talked to my brother Alan and his wife Darlene and we realized we haven’t talked for like 8 months or something.

How crazy is that? How does life get so busy that you don’t have time to give a little chat or two to people you love!

Time does go quickly though and I’m finding the older I get the faster it gets! Not sure why.I’m probably busier now then I have ever been too.

Remember when summers were like ten years! It was only two months in the summer but it was like so long when I was young!

I wonder if its something to do with being old or something to do with energy! Hmmm. I wonder if anyone knows the answer to that.

So I just wanted to mention that its always a good time to call someone you love!

Just a reminder.

Congratulations Alan on your retirement. Love you both.

Hypnotherapist Extraodinaire

April 25th, 2012 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good Day Friends.I hope the world is shining its light on you and you are shining your light on the world.

As you know I always share with you when I find something or someone that’s major cool and I have found by far the most amazing hypnotherapist right here in the heart of the Big O!

I went to Dorothy Gagnon because I wanted to deal with a few issues and she was recommended to me several years ago but something happened and I didn’t end up going.

I have gone a couple of times and I have to tell you I’m kind of skipping around crazy up on life. Now I’m usually up in the air high on life anyway but this is amazing!

The work she did on me last time I have to tell you hasn’t worn off and seems to get better and better every day. Things are flowing to me like magic and doors are opening and through the whole thing I have no anticipation of what is supposed to happen or even looking forward to anything I am just in the moment every second.

I’m noticing too that my readings are easier and the information is flowing better.

I have always read that we are to be the observer of our life each and every moment and through this work that Dorothy has been doing I’m kind of understanding that concept.

Here is a link to her site “DOROTHY” and here is a link to her wonderful book “DOROTHY”S BOOK”.

Dorothy also turned me onto Byron Katie who challenges us to get rid of our thoughts that cause us problems and live in the moment and I just love the work that this wonderful woman does. The truth is big in her work.If you go onto her site she is very generous and everything is free for your use.

It is interesting the information that has been coming to me too like reading about Mooji and finding after looking for it for many years in the house my Course in Miracles book.

It’s all about “being” in the moment and observing.

I had a bit of a hard time accepting this “moment observer” concept because as you know a lot of the law of attraction makes us stay in the moment but look into the future for the things we want to manifest. The coolest part about this observation is that in the moment things are coming to me that I have been trying to manifest and the good part is I’m feeling that either way its all ok.

Actually it was Bryan in his ultimate wisdom of the Violet Door that helped me with my wrestling over what was right and he basically said what I was searching for in that “it just doesn’t matter” take what you need.

The best thing Dorothy and Byron Katie has helped me with is what money means in my life. I was always on my next adventure on how to bring in my next million which was a wheel of fun but like a hamster I never really got anywhere.

When I stopped and starting living right here right now becoming a billionaire kind of lost its importance. I’m not saying I like anyone wouldn’t love to win the big one as I sit but I have taken on more of a feeling of whatever the Universe has in mind for me at any given moment.

When I start to think about what I would do with my manifested millions or think of a bill I have or what’s in front of me  I stop and say “do I have enough for this moment?” the answer is always yes.

The strangest part of this turn around is that all of a sudden things are opening up to me more than when I would project into the future or demand of the Universe. When I stay put and question any strange thoughts that come into my mind and ask the truth of any thoughts I’m in the flow that I have been trying to get with my manifesting.

Who knew that all we had to do is “stop” and observe.

It might not be for everyone and of course like anything we have to trust our heart with any information we have but I have to tell you living this way in a state of just “believing” is a much easier ride.

“Your story and reality just don’t match.  Reality is always kinder than your story about it – but only always.” Byron Katie

You are learning too much,

remembering too much, trying too hard…

relax a little bit, give life a chance to flow its own way,

unassisted by your mind and effort.

Stop directing the river’s flow!” Mooji

Positive Pin

April 23rd, 2012 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Yippy! Another day on Earth to have some fun! Are we not the luckiest people around!

I found something I know you will all want more than anything! It’s a Positive Pin to remind you to think positive.

Is that not the coolest thing?

They come in all different colours and they are so pretty!

I had to order one but couldn’t think of which colour so I got a few. They will go with my outfits and I’m sure I’ll  give a bunch away so I’ll be ordering more soon!

Some ideas are just so innovative aren’t they?

Here’s a picture of it I hope he doesn’t mind my doing this.

Kind of doubles for a cross which is great to remind us to not only be positive but to keep God in our hearts.

The owner Jon is lovely also giving some of the profits to those in need. Got to love that!

Here’s the link:

I just love things like this when people not only find a way to express their passion but give back also. Thank you for being you Jon.

WOW What a Day!

April 20th, 2012 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Howdy my Peeps!

What’s cooking?

Such a fun day. It was so unexpected. Bobby and I had to go get emission tests on our cars (I was nervous Daisy wouldn’t pass but she passed with flying colours), as well as oil changes, snow tires off, etc then we had to head to the license bureau to renew the stickers.

Thinking it was a good $500 or more day we headed out.

After paying out for the cars, stickers, etc.  we peeked into the casino and guess what Bobby won $650 at the casino! OO la la it was great!

So our expensive day turned out to be a free day! It doesn’t get better than that!

We even had extra for a nice lunch out!

Life is good!

Commanding My Morning

April 19th, 2012 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Here I go again I’m starting an exercise routine. I realized I’m far from a runner so joining Bobby on that adventure isn’t really possible.I thought I need something that will get me going.

How my new exercise has started is that I  found this book called “Command Your Morning” by Cindy Trimm and in it she has a many page prayer as you will that takes when spoken about l/2 hour. Sometimes I don’t get around to it so I thought well what about if I walked with it every morning.

There is a wonderful poem or saying it and I’ll write it here:

“The Essence of a New Day

This is the beginning of a new day.

You have been given this day to use as you will.

You can waste it or use it for good.

What you do today is important.

Because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.

When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever.

In its place is something that you have left behind….

Let it be something good.”               Author Unknown

Isn’t that kind of cool! True too! I remember reading something that said each night you should review your day and see if you will do anything different tomorrow.

So off I went for my l/2 hour walk this morning listening to my Command Your Morning poem (I put it on my little mp3 machine so it was a little easier than reading it as I walked because we all know I would have been calling Bobby to get my out of the ditch because I tripped over something or other.

So wish me luck on this one! I’ll keep you posted.

Butterfly Minded

April 18th, 2012 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Am I scaring you that I am writing so much? You can get used to it I think the problem is fixed!

Sooooo welcome everyone!

I was reading a booked which I think is called the Weird Sisters or something and I read the words Butterfly Minded and I thought what a wonderful way of describing what I feel like sometimes.

Sometimes I just feel like I cannot stay grounded and like my head is in the clouds or in spirit all the time and it is very hard for me to do things that take the ability to keep my feet on the ground.

When I lived my other life as a para legal by day and psychic by night it was easy as the legal job kept me grounded (some of the time) and that really helped.

Now that I’m doing psychic full time  its really crazy.

The hardest part is keeping track of my appointments. I get so confused when talking to people and because I’m booking so in advance of myself it gets really crazy.

Thank God for Jester’s Court and Angela’s Spa who book their own appointments otherwise I would be in the clouds looking down.

I like the term “Butterfly Minded” its much better than the words “Losing my Mind”.

Happy 48th Birthday To Bobby

April 17th, 2012 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Welcome Everyone.

Today is my husband Bobby’s 48th birthday!

Wow what a trip!

I wanted to take a moment to tell him what a sweetheart he is and how so totally proud I am of him in all that he has done.

The one thing that stands out more than others is his determination when he wants something. Did you know that at one time Bobby weighed about 330 pounds today he is about 180 or something.

It all started because he couldn’t pass a physical test for an interview at work with running and a few words from a nasty judgmental man who was probably his Earth Angel about his weight.

Here is the blog I did for his first marathon.

You can see what he looked like before! I love him either way but I’m glad that he is much healthier now of course. Happier too!

Today Bobby has done so many races and marathons I can’t count but that box of metals is getting heavier and heavier. Today he trains for an Ultra Marathon (50 kl) and the Tough Mudder! Who’d of thunk.

Way to go Bobby and Thank you for being you! I love you!
