Congratulations Bobby!

Good Day everyone. How are you this cool sweet day.

Well he did it. Bobby ran his first marathon today with Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon in Toronto. It’s now officially off his bucket list.

Here’s before the race. There were masses of people. There was one picture that looked like a painting as I messed up but I really like the picture. They have pace bunnies you can run with so you keep your time. Here’s a picture of Bobby and some of his running buddies.

Let’s start at the beginning. Bobby was a big guy before. I think his biggest was 308 pounds. I’m far from judging just letting you know how far he has come to do this marathon.

Here’s a picture of him then. I don’t think he was at his biggest here. He was the same person but he wasn’t healthy as well he had headaches all the time. The transformation came in the form of one ignorant person (who may be called an Angel as he started the change in Bobby) who said that people in Canada are gross and fat and he said to Bobby look at you you can’t even get close to the counter with that gut on you. Bobby was horrified that this person said this to him and he mulled it over and over and over. Some point in the near future from this incident he started Weight Watchers. When my husband does something he does it all the way and he ended up losing over 100 pounds. He ended up quite sickly though and looked thin and I was nervous at how he looked a bit like a skeleton. He gained a bit back and started to feel more safe and healthy.

At that point Bobby had to do a job interview at work that involved physical exercises as well as running and it turned out even though he was quite thin he was out of shape. That lead him to The Running Room. This is where he found his love of running. I talked about it way back in my blog here. Geez that wasn’t too long ago. He surely has done well.

Who knew back many many years ago when “Red” gave him his native name “Bear Running” that the name meant more than he realized.

I’m totally proud of Bobby. It’s been a lot of work training for this marathon and he has been diligent with his training.

Here’s a video of his finishing. Bobby. He had this big smile on his face when he said “I tore a muscle in my leg” like it was a good thing.

He was so tired and walking like a duck which I can well appreciate after running all that way. I also have a video (which I can’t upload for some reason) of Bobby putting his 26.2 on the car. He has been waiting to put this sticker on for a long time. I’m sure the tattoo is coming shortly.

Woo Hoo Bobby. I’m so proud of you. You have come a long way. I guess in a way its a lesson on how one person who can hurt you so much can also inspire you to do great things.

Love you Tons my Guy thank you for being you. I just got to thinking what you are going to do next. My mind keeps going to an Ironman!

Divine Travels of the Ha Ha Sisterhood – Day One – Part One

Good Morning Everyone. Welcome to the Psychic Cottage Blog.

Now that I’m back to myself and settled I wanted to let you in on our trip!

My sister and I decided to call our adventure the Divine Travels of the Ha Ha Sisterhood because we didn’t stop laughing from the time we left home until we got home and even then it didn’t stop. We do have tons of fun together.

Our first little town was Pictou. It was a quaint little town. Lots of hills and the town main street walks along a beautiful ocean front. It was so cold that day. The people of the town said that it was so hot the week before because of Earl.

We went to Mrs. MacGregor’s Tea House for lunch. It was nice. My sister remembered it to be different but it was a lovely lunch and it was good to just stop for a moment after all the running around.

Check out the sidewalks. Aren’t they cute.

There wasn’t much action in Pictou but we found lots of ways to entertain ourselves. What is it about having a sign with a hole in it that makes people want to stick their heads in it. You will see lots of these pictures throughout my blogs on the trip. It’s such fun to look ridiculous.

And the fun never stopped! It was so chilly that day. Stay tuned for Part Two. How come I’m in all these pictures and not my sister. Hmmm.

Home Sweet Home!

Hello everyone! How are you?

My sister and I are home from our trip to Cape Breton. Here’s a picture in this sweet little restaurant called the Village Kitchen in Baddeck. Yummy food.

It was great fun and we had amazing sister time.

I had trouble getting through on the internet so I am a little behind on everything. I apologize for that.

Lots of good stuff for you coming in future blogs and tons of pictures! As soon as I’m caught up I will blog you.

Cape Breton Here We Come!

Good Morning Everyone! It’s 4:30 am and I can’t sleep. My sister and I are headed down to Cape Breton for 9 days and I’m too excited. I don’t want to miss the flight.

I’ll have my computer so I can still do readings and get in touch with you all so no worries about that.

I’ve never been down East. I can’t wait to get there.

What a Feeling!

Morning Everyone. How are you this lovely morning?

I went to a sweat lodge yesterday as my husband and our good friend Rick hold them at Rick’s place and I can’t imagine anything that feels much better then going to a sweat.

Of course anything in a sweat stays in a sweat but I can tell you about the overall good feelings.

I think I like the tradition of it. Certain things have to be done a certain way. Certain things can only be done by women and certain things by men.

I felt very honoured as there was a broken rib on the lodge and I was the one given the task of mending it and sending my feminine energy into the lodge. Isn’t that cool? Sounds a bit hokey as I’m writing it but it truly was a good experience to do that.

I remember in a sweat many moons ago I was the only woman and I was doing the tasks of separating the cedar and the Elder and the men gathered around me and sung to me in thanks. I have to tell you I was very honoured and felt a little silly when that happened. It was an amazing experience.

If you ever get an opportunity to go to a sweatlodge make sure you go. Of course trust the person holding it. Bobby & Rick host it so I was in good hands.

There is always a feast after the lodge which is the best. Rick makes the best chicken soup ever. It’s just as healing as the sweat.

Thanks Rick, Bobby, Pat & John for making the lodge a success as well as everyone who participated. Thank you for being you.

Poker Lotto

Category: Musings by Sharon

Good Morning Everyone. How are you this wonderful day? My Son bought me breakfast this morning which made me so happy. It’s a weird feeling to receive from your children in that kind of way.

Thank Mike. Love you tons.

So have you tried it yet? There is a new lottery game out called Poker Lotto.

It’s too much fun.

You pay your $2 which is part of the whole lottery experience but then you can win on the video screen an instant win! As well you get your lottery ticket for the numbers (or cards) drawn that night.

It’s extra fun for me because I’m trying to manifest a Royal Flush. How hard can it be right? You get $5,000! This morning I paid my $2,  I won a free ticket on the first ticket, then on the free ticket I won $20, then I won $2. Like that’s so cool eh?  This was all for the $2! I had so much fun with it. Ok there was a line up out the door while I was jumping up and down but they were excited too. It’s all very confusing while you are in it.

It’s like a mini cheap casino visit.

I’d take that over a coffee any day.

I remember when my sister and I went to Salem long time ago they had these little video things. She won lots of money on it.

I don’t have many bad addictions. I don’t smoke. I don’t drink. I don’t do drugs. I do love the excitement of the lottery though. We all need something to turn our crank I guess or float your boat.

Happy Winning friends.

Almost Like Being There

Hello Everyone. I’m so sick. I have to get better because I’m heading down to Cape Breton for a week this Saturday. Yikes. I’m not sure if it’s the drugs the doc gave me to make me better but doing the radio show wasn’t an option. I guess I could have sniffled my way through but it wouldn’t have been pretty.

It’s a repeat show in case you are wondering.

I’m having such fun reading my friend Cynthia’s blog as she goes through France. The pictures are beautiful and she has such a wit in her writing. I love the way the little things attract her and make her so grateful for her travels.

Have a peek Cynthia’s Blog.

It’s so beautiful there. The silk scarf today sent me over the edge! Like how cool is that?

Cynthia has such a fun life going here and there. She loves to travel and she loves taking pictures.

Thanks Cynthia for being you!

Motivation, Passion & Cupcakes – Trial Run

Good Evening dear Blog Friends. How are you this kind of eerie night? There is a strange energy in the air. Not sure what’s up.

This evening I did a trial run of the MPC Spiritual get-together at my sister-in-law’s place. She offered to have her friends be there to practice on. It went pretty well.

I found I talked too fast and a few things didn’t go exactly as planned but it was lots of fun.

I opened the floor for suggested changes and considering they probably didn’t realize what they were getting themselves into in the first place it went well. (I joked and said its a tupperware party, lol.)

It’s always lovely to visit Kimmi and her offer of this was extra nice of her, like her.

Thanks Kimmi. Thanks for being you.

Happy Birthday Joe!

Good Morning Everyone. How are you this day? I’m up extremely early and getting all my things done for the day. There is a quietness in the morning that makes me very productive.

Today is my brother-in-law’s birthday. Happy Birthday Joe! Here’s a picture of Joe, my sister and my Mom.

Joe has been in my life for forever and is probably more like a brother than a brother in law. I can’t remember a time in my life when he wasn’t there. Also, when I have gone through my many dramatic events in my life he was always there for me. I love him dearly.

Another thing that is great about Joe is that he has always been there for my Boys. He’s an amazing Uncle.

Love you tons Joe and thank you for being you! Happy Birthday.

Courtice Flea Market Today – September 5th

Good Morning Everyone. How are you this delicious long weekend.

I just went for my run of 5 minutes and one minute walk. I did ok this time. I figured out to take my puffer 15 minutes before which made a huge difference. Plus this wonderful woman teamed up with me to make me run better. She is an amazing coach. Bobby is encouraging too when he isn’t joking and hitting my butt to make me go faster. It’s one of the things I love about him that he makes me laugh. He says I’m so cute when I run too now that’s encouragement.

If anyone is wanting a mini reading ($20 for 20 minutes) I will be at the Courtice Flea Market today. You will find me in the little house that is separate from the flea market. Irene said it’s called Jo Jo’s but I didn’t see a sign last time. It’s walk in only so no promises for getting an appointment. Look for the yellow sandwich board she has outside on the little deck.

So I’m off to the Flea Market. Talk soon!
