Tickle Me Elmo.

January 30th, 2009 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello Dear Friends.  How are you all making out in Mercury in Retrograde. It’s been a strange one that’s for sure.

My dear husband bought me a present yesterday. A tickle me Elmo. It is just so cute. Every time I see one when we are out I have to touch its foot to get it to say “Elmo Loves You”. Then I laugh hysterically.

I came home and it was on the table. My husband is such a sweet man.

It took forever to get out of its packaging but when it started doing its thing it was such fun. If you put in down sideways it says something about helping Elmo up and then when he’s upright he says that you are Elmo’s best friend.

I have no idea how it works.

I know what you are thinking, she’s a grown woman. Ha that’s where I got you. I can be as young as I want. If Tickle Me Elmo puts a smile on my face, why not.

Do something that makes you smile and just blame me and say if Sharon can make a fool of herself I can too.

Prosperity Prayer from Joe Vitale

Hi Everyone. How are you? Are you staying positive?

Joe Vitale is always sending out this or that and today he sent out something that I think everyone should look at. It’s a Prosperity Prayer. You can find it on his blog here. It’s free.

It is just a lovely prayer and goes at finding abundance from every angle. I love it. It sings. I was trying to memorize it on the way home so I don’t have to look at the paper.

The person who wrote it is Will Bowen. You can find his website here. His idea is having a Complaint Free World. Wouldn’t that be great.

So that’s it. Just wanted to tell you about it in case you weren’t on Joe’s mailing list.

Here’s a quote for you:

Exciting Day.

January 20th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone.

What an exciting day. History is being made by bringing in the new President.

I’m not a big political person and don’t pay as much attention as I should but something like this is always exciting. I want to say to my grandchildren when I have them that I saw certain things in History.

At work they put a television in the cafeteria and let us watch the inauguration. It was nice to watch every one’s reactions.

I was at the supermarket the other day and this man went kind of weird on me and said “see that man (Obamo) he is going to bring in the New Age and try to make us all one”. I wasn’t quite sure what he meant or why he was so hostile and I surely wasn’t about to ask. The man ahead of him was chuckling. I knew he was relieved that it was me that made eye contact with this angry man instead of him.

It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds.

I Found the Coolest Thing Today.

January 19th, 2009 | Category: Exciting News,Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Welcome back to the TPC Blog. I’m so chilly I can’t shake it. Must be the continuous cold weather that doesn’t let up.

So I hope you are doing well and that life is treating you kindly.

I found something really cool today that I want to share. Two things actually.

I was reading this really great blog about doing what you love by Daniel at Daily Blog Tips. It’s about Mondays which have recently been giving me a hard time. He sent me the link so here it is Daily Blog Tips.

When I was buzzing around his site as I like to do I am across a place where you can send your writing to be proofread, etc. It’s called Gramlee. I’m not sure why its called that. They have a little free one you can try and it was really amazing. Fast and cheap too. I know there are a lot of people out there that have so much knowledge that they want to share but their writing sometimes keeps them back.

Not like me I just write what comes out of that floating head of mine and that’s what you get. I’ll give them a run for their money.

So their site is here for you to try Gramlee. Also if you are a talented editor (and hold your breath when you read my blog) then they are always hiring.

A quote for you.

Are you Ready for the New Season of Lost this Week?

January 19th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

I’m hoping this blog finds you feeling totally happy and joyful.

I am so excited because this week is the next season of Lost. I didn’t really know about it until someone at work told me about it and Bobby and I watched all four seasons to get caught up for Wednesday.

It’s so amazing. Complicated a bit following all the story line but such a good series.

I couldn’t watch some of the things so I was driving Bobby a bit crazy. If you miss anything you get so messed up for the next shows. I just get creeped out in certain scenes and there is no way I can watch them then I have 50 questions when I start again.

There are only 6 seasons apparently so it will be interesting to see how they explain everything.

My favorite character is Hurley but also Sawyer, hello?, I’m thinking that Sawyer would be most woman’s favorite.

It’s so much fun at work when everyone comes in and are like, “Did you see it?”. They have a Dharma tshirt I might get one for casual day to make everyone laugh.

So that’s it. Just getting pumped up for Wednesday and the 3 hour season premier.

I know, get a life Sharon.

Clickitty, click.

January 18th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

How are you today? I haven’t ventured out except to shovel the snow. I’m getting up the nerve. I have to go to Staples and to the grocery store and maybe just maybe Chapters as I have a gift certificate I’m itching to spend. Plus my Grandcats need their food which is impossible to find.

Every since Bobby started working Sunday’s I have tried to make him dinner. Not a feat for many but for me its a big deal.

I’m thinking pork chops?

Now we don’t use our oven, don’t ask, and we only use our little convection oven so I am a bit limited but I’m doing ok. Last week I made macaroni and cheese, the week before I made stew. I’m getting there. I’ll keep you posted on the chops. I’m thinking scalloped potatoes to go with it? How creative am I all of a sudden?

This blog is about yesterday and how I seemed to be in the zone and everything just clicked. I really think it is because of my practicing being in the “now” from the book A New Earth.

This is how my day went. I had the day to myself and I was just so guided to go to the casino. I love the casino. I don’t have many addictions except for maybe sweets and the casino. I usually do pretty well especially when the stars are in my favour. So off I go.

On the way up I stopped at this store called White Feather. I remembered about a year ago they had this beautiful jacket I loved but they never carried my size. I went in and you guessed it right there, with a bright white light around it (just kidding) was my jacket and in the exact size I wanted. It was the only one there as it was last years’ style. It reminded me of this jacket I wanted so bad when I was in my 30’s and I wouldn’t buy it because it was too expensive and then it was gone. So that was one miracle.

The next miracle happened at the casino. I was down big time, well in my world. I’m sure others would think it was peanuts. I was so confused because I felt so guided to go and then with my last $20 I sat down and guess what I won $476. Woo hoo!

The next miracle happened in Port Perry. I went to Tweed & Hickory to get coffee for our Keurig (If you don’t have one by the way get one. They are amazing. We stopped buying daily coffees because of it. Perfect every time. Both Bobby and I can’t make coffee for some reason so this was a great solution.) and I went into this little store, actually I cut through it as it was warmer from where I parked and I found this pewter ring that I have had out on the ether manifesting it since I started reading A New Earth. I wanted something not expensive but with writing that would remind me to stay in the moment. It was perfect. A ring with “Wish Wish Wish” on it. Every time I look at I, I remember to bring myself back to my breath. It was only $7.95 too and it fit.

Now I know I sound a bit addicted to form here which is what A New Earth is trying to get us away from but it felt so good like someone was listening to my requests and wants. Who knows maybe someone or something was.

If I didn’t have my chocolateless sundae my day would have been perfect, actually, it was perfect, chocolateless sundae and all. My life is good.

My Chocolateless Sundae.

January 18th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon,whining

Hi Everyone. How are you this snowy day.

My friend Cynthia put a picture of yesterday’s amazing sunrise on her blog. See it here. It’s really hard to be ungrateful when you see things like that.

Contradictory to that, I have to complain about something here and I’m going to sound like a 5 year old so here you have it.

Bobby and I had a craving for ice cream last night (I know snow and cold don’t stop us) and we went to our old favorite (while the kawartha ice cream store is closed anyway) and I couldn’t believe the service.  It cost like $10 and Bobby got his blizzard (oops does that give it away) and I got a chocolate Sundae with whipped cream and pecans. Yum Yum.

We are at the cash, Bobby forks over his money for the goods and I notice my Sundae looks sad and nothing like my normal Sundae I get there. I said can you give me a little more whipped cream please. (I mean we paid an extra 49 cents for it right?) This lady comes over whom I’m assuming is the manager and says to us “NO we are allowed only 5 small flowerettes and that’s what you got if you want more it’s another 49 cents.” Now I really don’t care about the 49 cents, hey  I just dropped a loonie in the parking lot for my dollar a day, so what’s 49 cents but her whole attitude was starting to get me. The poor people who had to work for her you could see in their faces that they thought she was a nut (pardon the pun). I felt like saying the “power” is inside my Friend but not my business.

So we get home, put on our movie we got at Rogers and I have been anticipating my yummy Sundae all the way home. I looked at my new ring which says on it “wish wish wish” so I could be reminded of staying in the now like my teachings from A New Earth and tried to let go of the upset at the ice cream store and when I opened my Sundae, guess what, no chocolate syrup.

Now this was a test for sure because I was ready to get out of my comfies and  back into my street clothes, weather the storm and go get another one. Then I thought I wouldn’t have enjoyed it anyway at this point. So I just added the ice cream to Bobby’s blizzard and had nothing. To get rid of the event as best I could,  I called the store (#67) and explained what happened. I was thinking the whole time though  (i) we’re in a recession, (ii) you have 5 staff on and no one is entering the place (except us), and (iii) it was a simple order, chocolate Sundae needs chocolate syrup, plus the whole fiasco on the whipped cream, (iv) you’ve just lost two customers that will never come back every again. …..Hello, is anyone listening. The girl who answered wasn’t the manager and seemed to be concerned and said I could have a free Sundae next time I’m in. I said no I won’t be back.

I know, in the big picture it has nothing to do with life and I really shouldn’t be whining as my life is a wonderful one, AND my body didn’t need ice cream at the moment anyway but I was truly disappointed in not getting my Sundae.

So that’s it. No more complaining about ice cream anyway.

“You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream.” Proverb

Ghost Car

January 17th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone.  How are you this frosty morning. Do you think this cold is going to let up? Geez? I guess there is a reason for it so I shouldn’t complain too much. I’m being “I am” as I should be, listen to my breath, listen to my breath. Practicing A New Earth here.

Here’s my story for today.

I was thinking the other day I never told you about my Ghost Car.

I was driving to Toronto for some reason one morning and it was very early in the morning. There was no one on the road. I was driving down Taunton which turns into 14th. There is one section just after Brock I think where the road kind of turns into a large curved bridge. I think its a bridge anyway. (I know what you are thinking, is she sure of anything?, it must be hard to be her.)

I look beside me to my left as I’m a slow poke and always go on the right and there is a car beside me. Something made me look. Then all of a sudden it sprung back, almost like it was on an elastic or something. I looked behind and it was gone. It couldn’t have turned because it didn’t have time to do that. It was instant.

I almost stopped my car to see if it went in the ditch or something as it all happened so quickly. It was completely gone.

I knew I had experienced something and it was rather cool. Was it a car that was in an accident at that particular section of the street and wanted to say hi? What was it? Did I have some kind of “time” experience, flashback or forward?

I remember reading once about a legend where there was a school bus accident and if you parked there the little children’s handprints would be on your car. Here is the snope on it for you.

Maybe it was kind of the same thing. He just wanted to be recognized or something.

It didn’t frighten me or anything I just thought it was a really great experience. (I admit I had the word “cool” here but I realized that I use that word “way” too much so I thought I will change my writing a little and show you that I too can write a little more sophisticated.)

I am always looking for that car when I get to that part of the road each time.

So that’s it. Here’s a quote for you:

“For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is possible.” Traditional Saying

My Family has Nominated January a No Alcohol Month.

January 13th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi everyone. Another quick blog.

My brother has nominated January a no Alcohol Month. It’s spreading like wildfire. Actually it is one new years’ resolution I can keep because I don’t drink! (Don’t you even think of taking away my chocolate either.)

He had this idea that he doesn’t want  to drink all of January. Not even one beer. He said it’s a little tough, especially at the casino when they offer his favorite beer, but he’s been doing it.

He said he’s talking to everyone and they are doing the same thing now. How exciting!

So that’s it. Just wanted to share in case you wanted in the club. Your liver will thank you.

Two quotes for you:

“Here’s to alcohol: the cause of, and answer to, all of life’s problems.” The Simpsons.

“Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” Benjamin Franklin

Until we meet again, Sharon

P.S. A note from my niece Becki who started this apparently:

“Hello all
This is our 2nd Annual “Dry January”. It is the one month a year that Brian and I take a solemn vow to abstain from any mind altering substances (mostly beer and wine).  It can be trying at times but it is also very rewarding.  We think of it as a detox after indulging during the holidays.
This year my dad joined in on our challenge and we plan to celebrate our success after the end of the month a couple days after his birthday.
I’m glad to see our idea is catching on.  It is very gratifying on January 31st when you wake up and think “I did it”.  Pass on our idea to others and maybe we can start a real trend.
Take care all. B & B”

Why is it Cold Out?

January 13th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog this frosty day.

I hope January is treating you well.

I work beside a really sweet woman who just came here from the Philippines and its so much fun to experience things with her for the first time.

(I can’t really tell her about this blog as I’m thinking she is quite religious in a very structured way. She might never talk to me again. Eeeek A Psychic. )

Anyway…she is really kind and gets so excited about everything.

As this is her first winter she comes in every day amazed at how cold it is and can’t believe when I tell her this is nothing wait until February.

Today she said is it hot in here? I said to her how many layers do you have on? She has these thermal underwear and layers of clothes. It’s so much fun to watch her and so refreshing. Sometimes I forget the beauty of day to day things and when someone is experiencing it as brand new it makes me remember how lucky we are.

It was so cute the first time she had to drive in snow. She has a big 4×4 so it wasn’t the danger but it was just the amazement that it was her first snowfall.

I think I like that she is so grateful to be in Canada and she never complains. You know if it were me I think I’d be doing my share of whining if I was taken from gorgeous weather to snowy Canada.

So that’s it. Be grateful my Friends and I’ll chat with you soon.
