Who Knew? My Clematis turned into Morning Glories.

September 30th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon,Thinking Out Loud.

Good Morning my Friends. How are you this glorious yet thunderous morning?

I have a few days off before going out there and making some cash so I’m feeling mighty creative and what better way to get creative then on my blog.

So I have to tell you our front porch has been taken over by……Morning Glories. My sister was right. They weren’t Clematis.

Remember my blog about the Clematis? I really thought they were. Obviously not the greenest thumb at the fair.

This quote describes my gardening abilities (I know bad Taurus):

“I have a rock garden. Last week three of them died.”~ Richard Diran

Notwithstanding all that I wanted to show you how beautiful my “Morning Glories” are. I really didn’t have to do anything they just grew like crazy. They are all different colours too.

It got me thinking you know. Next door to us we have a bit of an “odd” neighbour . (I’m sure they are saying the same thing.) They took out their cedars and put these things that look like an old stick fort from many moons ago. They said to us as they were hacking the poor cedars down and making big gaping holes that our dogs were planning their escape with that they were putting up these “fort sticks” and they would be a beautiful live fence in no time. I think they said 3 weeks or 3 months. I can’t remember. I know Bobby wrote it on the calendar for fun. Well we plugged up all the holes so our dogs couldn’t run amuck and watched and watched and nothing happened.

The funny part is that me who couldn’t grow anything if my life depended on it planted these morning glory seeds, thinking they were Clematis and they grew everywhere. Twisting and turning in a glorious fashion like they do. If you ever get thinking about God’s existence just watch them grow. They will provide the proof you need.

I couldn’t help but think why didn’t they just plant morning glory seeds around these “fort sticks”? It would have been breathtakingly beautiful.

I’m not saying the “fort sticks” weren’t supposed to be beautiful but something totally backfired. All I can say is I hope they came with a guarantee and I hope they left a sacred offering when they hacked out all the cedars.

Here’s a lovely quote for you

“A morning glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.” Walt Whitman

Earth Angels because the Devil Can’t Play Tug of War Alone

September 29th, 2008 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello my Friends.

I realize that two blogs below I was a little cranky and negative and I just want to say that the world always needs balance. Hence the title of this blog.

Just as there are people that bring pain into our lives there are also people that are complete Angels.

Marci is one of those Angels I’m talking about.

I work (oh did work) with my Friend Marci.

I did a reading for her and I wasn’t expecting anything in return and she designed and made the most beautiful knitted shawl for me. It’s just totally me and I was just so surprised and humbled by her doing this.

Here is a picture of Marci wearing my beautiful shawl she made.

She even looks Angelic doesn’t she?

Marci is one of those people that you just know “has your back”. I loved her the moment I saw her. Such a sweetie and she is a good friend.

Thanks Marci for being you. The world is a better place because you are in it.

A quote for all:

“A real friend is like an Angel who warms you by her presence and remembers you in her prayers.” (I can’t find the author here for you.)

Zen and the Art of Kitty Litter

September 27th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon,Thinking Out Loud.

Hello dear Friends.

I got your attention didn’t I. As you know the strangest things amuse me.

I have been spending time with my grand cats and I am so fascinated with the whole kitty litter ritual.

I asked my Friend Kaleigh if she thought a blog on “Kiddy” litter would be too out there. She said it would be really “out there” if you wrote “Kiddy” instead of “Kitty”. Oops.

Here’s a few of the strange things I have observed while watching the cats with the kitty litter:

* cats don’t like the litter to be even it must have foot prints;

* cats find it fun just to sit in there either alone or they join each other for a social event and smooch, or is it clean each other, not sure, looks like smooching;

*cats must “use” clean kitty litter immediately;

* cats must smell their “droppings” after;

*cats like to dig in there; my friend Kaleigh says to her cats what are you doing digging for China?;

I could go on and on.

What I do is every time I go visit the cats I clean the litter. I don’t remember changing the litter hourly when having cats when I was younger and I really don’t remember it being so easy. I just remember this awful amonia smell from the litter. Times have changed.

So I clean the litter while sitting with them with this little plastic tool I bought.

This leads to both the cats having to take their turn and messing it up by using it immediately. I then do it all over again and this goes on until I finally give up and/or end my visit with them.

I find it strange that they try and use the carpet outside the box to cover their “droppings” or the hard plastic on the side of the box. Obviously not the sharpest tools in the shed as my friend Terry would say.

I just know for sure that after I go they get on the cat phone and call their friends on speaker cat phone. Here’s how the conversation goes:

“You should have seen the old broad she was digging in there like she was panning for gold. We got her to go in almost 5 times we just couldn’t produce any more to make her do it again. What is the record anyway? Then, get this, she has to smooth out the litter like she’s making a Zen sand garden or the potato on sheppard’s pie. We can’t wait until she’s finished with her perfection to jump in and do our best. We’re saving up for next time we’re sure we can beat the record.”

Today’s quote is from a t-shirt on cafe press:

“What happens in the litter box stays in the Litter Box.”

Until we meet again, Sharon

P.S. I promise I’ll think of a better subject next time.

Know Your Audience.

September 26th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

This is my brothers’ saying. He said you can talk about anything you want to people just know your audience.

I’m thinking this applied to me in the last day or so.

Did you ever trust someone and then they turn out to be someone that you don’t even want to be associated with or wouldn’t give the time of day if you knew the real them? That happened to me. I think what irks me more is that this person did it the whole time with a smile on their face? Probably what irks me the most if I really thought about it is that I didn’t see it and walked right into it.

What makes people do this? I’m thinking in this instance that spirit wouldn’t let me see the real person otherwise I would throw a fit and come out swinging.

I kind of feel stupid though that I even thought this person was my friend and the first chance they got they shoved the knife in.

The peculiar part is that I think others are now standing in line with this person without thinking that they might be next. A leopard doesn’t change his spots.

Onward and upward though as I always say. I will be careful though in the future who I trust. I have never been like that really. I just go along my way thinking everyone is my Pal and they are brought onto my path for a reason. I guess the lesson here is to always keep your boundaries protected.

I’m not one to hold onto things so this is a good exercise to get it out in a blog and let go. I’m sure the universe has a plan for me (and them) and I’m sure it included the last few days. There’s a lesson there somewhere. Hopefully a few good healings and the knife will be nudged out of my back and healed all up and tougher so that it can’t happen again.

A quote to share:

“Though those that are betrayed Do feel the treason sharply, yet the traitor Stands in worse case of woe.”
– William Shakespeare

Sometimes there’s nothing like a blog to get something off your chest.

My Grandkittens.

September 13th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

The energy I’m feeling still hasn’t lifted much. I’m not sure what the universe has in mind. I feel like I’m walking through water or something.

Nonetheless I have kept my mind off of the energy by looking after my Grandkittens, Hazel and Blueberry.

My boys can’t look after them right now so I have them with me and I’m having so much fun with them. I haven’t had a cat in years.

I used to run into Winners for clothes now I find myself heading for the pet store. I got them this neat snake thing that they run through, a microwavable blanket thing to keep them warm, these little jiggly ball things that they chase everywhere and even though I could probably be in trouble for this their very own “witch” hat for Halloween. I had the angel wings in my hand but thought maybe I was spending just a little too much on them.

I put the witch hat on Hazel but couldn’t handle the look I got from her (she had this I’ll get you back look when you least expect it).

Blueberry loved it, got up on her little microwave throw and fell asleep with it on that was after she posed for lots of pictures.

These are the coolest cats. They are bengals. Totally different then other cats. They are like dogs or something. They listen to you. I said to Bobby you should see their bellies and they both went on their backs and showed him their bellies. I thought whoa that’s a little weird.

I’m not sure what it feels like to be a Grandma but I’m thinking if I’m spoiling these cats this much what am I going to do when one of my boys has a child? What fun will that be? I guess for now I will have to settle for my little spotted witch cats.

Here’s my Quote for you:

“Thousands of years ago, cats were Worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.” Anonymous

Don’t Let Fear Slip In.

September 11th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Welcome.

I’m just reading the news about gas prices going up 12 cents by tomorrow morning. Yikola eh? There are line ups around the pumps. Everyone is going a bit crazy.

Remember it is really important to stay cool. If we let the fear sink into the mass the prices are going to go through the roof.

Have a little faith ok. Everything will be fine it always is one way or the other. So maybe the gas will go up but you will get some unexpected wealth you weren’t expecting. It all comes out in the wash.

Here’s a quote to keep you going:

“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.” Mary Manin Morrissey

Ahhh Back in School.

September 09th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Dear Friends. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

I feel so grounded and thankful that I’m back in school. Ok, it might not be something everyone would like but I love it. I take classes with the Spiritualist Church. They are fun and so insightful. The teacher is a wonderful man named Rev. Joe.

Rev. Joe operates out of his church in Scarborough. Actually Bobby is doing a talk there this Sunday. Bear Running is Bobby. I’m Mrs. Running running after him.

Actually we never stop. Most people think we are strange. We work all day and run around all night and weekend either doing readings or talks or something. We get pooped sometimes but it’s just something we do.

Rev. Joe keeps the class exciting and he calls you on everything so it’s not like you can hide. If he was a traditional school teacher he’d be the one who asks you a question when you are trying to get a good snooze in.

Last year was the best. We learned everything from mediumship to crystal balls.

You should try it some time. It’s too much fun.

Quote for you:

“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” Sydney J. Harris

I wonder which class we are going to do that? You never know.

Slacker and Screamworks

September 08th, 2008 | Category: memories,Musings by Sharon

Hello Dear Friends.

How are you this strange evening. The energy seems to be building towards something and I’m not sure what’s going on. If I had an oasis to run away to I think I’d go until it’s over and the energy settles down a little.

I remembered something funny today that happened long time ago and Bobby reminded me about it.

Many years ago I worked at a job and I’m never one to be like others and I’m very much a rebel. Push me and I push back. I will never change.

There was a big meeting and executives came from other places and it was a large boardroom that everyone went into. A lot of people I didn’t know and lots I did. There was this one guy there that I worked with. His name was Neil. We would have fun together saying things back and forth. He was at one end of the table and I was at the other. There were I think about 30 people there. We all had pads in front of us for the meeting. So I hear Neil say ok can I have everyone’s attention if we just all sign this we can get this over with and go home. He holds up a sign that says “Sharon is a Slacker”. Everyone cracked up. I did too but the first words out of my mouth weren’t the most lady like and everyone forgot about him and looked directly at me. I think I went 10 shades of red at that point. Is life ever dull for me? I just had to share with you.

The other thing I wanted to tell you about is Screamworks. A kind lady at the Psychic Tea I mentioned in my last blog told me about it. Well she did say Spookfest but either works. It’s in Peterborough. I’m thinking of going. It sounds like a blast. I totally love Halloween. Its got to be the best holiday. I told you before I love anything witchy. I think I’m going to dress up like a witch! I have to ask if we are allowed to. What fun. I’ll keep you posted and make sure if you are in the area to come and say hi to me.

Gems Along the Way – Dorothy and Terry

September 05th, 2008 | Category: Gems Along the Way

Hello Friends. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

In my life I have been truly blessed with so many friends. They come into my life all the time. It’s like I know them from another time another place.

I have two special friends in my life that are going through their own little challenges right now and I wanted to introduce them to you and maybe you can send them some good thoughts and light.

Dorothy is my Earth Mom. I talked a bit about her in my blog on Mothers’ Day. She’s going through a bit of a time right now in the hospital. She is a wise soul. Very ahead of her time. We met many years ago when I took a workshop of hers. We bonded right away and actually went away a few weeks later together to Indiana to go to a Spiritualist Community. I remember her saying when she got in my new little Suzucki Sidekick convertible that she was worried because I could have been a bit crazy and yet here she was trusting herself to be away with me for a week. I said hey I could say the same thing. We have had many a laugh and surely have had discussions that would raise many an eyebrow. I do not see her enough as my life gets busy and now she is in the hospital I feel a bit empty for not making the time. I know she will be fine. The world was meant to be one with her in it. Especially as we near 2012. I just wanted to make a special place on my blog for her for her healing.

Another friend is going through something. Her name is Terry. I work with Terry and when we met it was the oddest thing we liked everything the same. We were either opposites or exactly the same. It’s like holding up a mirror. I remember at work when they couldn’t find anyone I did a little one of my “spells” for them to find someone. Who knew it would be someone for me. A new friend that would make my life at work a fun one and make my life so much richer by her being in it. We almost finish each others sentences. She is having chemo at Princess Margaret and I wanted to wish her the best of luck and send her tons of blessings and healings.

God’s Blessings to both of you my Friends.
