Taco Celebration!

October 15th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good Day Everyone. What’s cookin’ ?

Last night I shared the evening with my sons for Peter’s birthday and I made Tacos. It’s the only thing I can cook that anyone will eat.

Funny part is the first thing they said is do you have beer? No but I have gingerbread men. Who knew Bobby was right.

It was a great success.

Here’s a picture of the three of us. Bobby had to work so missed the party

Here’s a picture of Michael and Peter acting up and their friend Arsh.

These boys crack me up. Too much fun.

Love you Boys and thank you all for being you.

I’m just heading out to a psychic party and they said to wear Orange & Black! (If only it was a pink party I would be set.) Yikes I’m not sure what its about but I’m bringing a camera. You never know when Blog material will pop up.

Gingerbread Men or Beer

October 13th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good afternoon dear friends. I hope this delicious day is treating you kindly.

Bobby and I were out today and visited a Tim’s for my daily pumpkin spice muffin fix and I saw these jolly three gingerbread men. I was so excited and said Bobby I have to get those to give to the kids when I go for the birthday party tomorrow. The extra can go to their friend Arsh.

Bobby looked at me and said “Sharon Peter turned 29 yesterday are you sure they wouldn’t prefer a case of beer or something”. Isn’t that hilarious? I still think of them as my little boys who love gingerbread men.

I bought them anyway because I can live in my la la land as long as I want to. The funny part is they will love it.

When has a happy face ever steered anyone wrong.

Happy Birthday Peter!

October 12th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good Day Everyone. Welcome to The Psychic Cottage Blog.

Today is my first born Son’s birthday. I can’t believe he is 29. OMG where did the time go.

Peter is such a sweet guy. He definitely marches to his own drum and he’s a handsome devil. Here he is.

Charm seems to pour out of him in a very elegant way and he is kind and generous. He learned how to be charming even at a young age. I remember when he was very young he would kiss me goodbye in front of the girls because he knew that made the girls love him more.

He’s been through a lot in his life and doesn’t carry that energy in a negative way but more of a way of knowing and appreciating where he’s at.

He surely likes the best of everything. I always joke and say it was because his Zia watched him when he was young and she loves the best of everything too.

Peter has a style all his own and he’s smart as a whip. Even at a young age he could figure out numbers in his head which I’m sure came from another place. I’d be sitting there with a calculator figuring something out not very successfully and he would tell me the answer from his head. The odds and order of numbers seemed and is still a natural innate gift of his.

I am so happy and proud of him and I’m very blessed that he chose me as his Mom in this lifetime.

I love you Pete. Thank you for Being you.

What a Sweetheart My Husband Is

October 10th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Welcome.

Today when I went to the fleamarket to do readings I was surprised when Irene said your first client is in there already.

I thought that’s weird. Then when I went into the little booth Bobby was in there with a dozen pink roses.

Isn’t that adorable?

I was so excited that he thought of doing that for me.

Here’s a picture of me in my new hat he bought for me yesterday. Isn’t it cool? We got it at Tweed & Hickory in Port Perry when we went to get our coffee. I want to be rich enough to buy all my clothes there. Oo la la. They have beautiful things.

Here’s a picture of the flowers. So pretty.

He truly is a Sweetheart that husband of mine.

Love you Bobby and thank you for being you.

Jenny Shares Her Light

October 07th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hey Everyone.

It’s a very cool day. I don’t know what is up but the energy is just hopping. I love it. I feel like I want to take on a project but I don’t know what that project is.

Jenny from The City Cottage store did the best blog. It was written from deep within her heart and truly I believe that tons of healing took place (for her and others) from not only what she wrote but what others wrote.

I can’t tab on specifically to that blog but it is October 4th, 2010. Here’s the link to Jenny’s Blog.

Is Rilo not adorable?

I was suprised that it took 17 comments for someone claiming to be one of the chosen few to come on and comment but they came. I totally love what Jenny wrote.

You go Girl! Love you tons. Thank you for being you!

CIBC Run for the Cure – 2010

October 03rd, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Howdy Friends. What’s cookin’?

Today is the day we went to the CIBC Run for the Cure. It was a 5K run. It was the celebration run at the end of my course at The Running Room.

Here’s a youtube video of us heading out to the run. I’m having such fun with my little video on the camera we bought

I’m kind of glad it was somewhat of a loosy goosy run because there was no time or anything and if you walked, ran or crawled or for that matter went home to bed no one would notice. I ran for a bit but I really wasn’t into running the whole way. It was freezing and I mean freezing. I wore a t-shirt for some strange reason known only to the good Lord above. I think I needed a snow suit. I did a few 10 minute runs but mostly walked. Bobby came back and met me after running the 5K and he said he saw me strolling along looking at the landscape.

I started running near the finish line to look like I was somewhat trying.

My team from the Running Room ran over the finish line with me. That was very cool. Lesley was our coach for the Ladies Learn to Run and she’s the best. Very thoughtful and at the end she gave us a cool present to wear around our neck and attach a picture.

All the way Bobby is saying, what was your time. I explained to him that it doesn’t really matter and I surely don’t care. Is it only me or does it really matter what time anyone runs in? I know it matters for the Boston Marathon and other things but a fun run shouldn’t be that serious.

I said to Bobby listen “If I came in first or last I’m still me.” He doesn’t get me.

We met Bobby’s sister, Kimmi, and her daughter, Sahra, son, Jason and beautiful granddaughter, Ashley at the run. Here are some pictures.

I especially love this picture of Kimmi, Jason & Ashley at the end of the race. Too cute.

There was a group that had on the back of their shirts “Too Blessed To Be Stressed”. I thought what a great saying. They let me take a picture.

So that’s it. I did my first 5K run/walk (lol) and it was lots of fun.

Get Your Mojo Working

September 29th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello Dear Friends. Welcome to The Psychic Cottage blog. I hope lovely things are happening for you on this wonderul day the Creator has provided for us.

You all know I love Venus Andrecht. I think she is the best psychic that exists on Earth today. She has a way of making life an easier go.

Venus does these cool things called Mojo’s that her Mom did when she was young.  She said if there was lets say a problem with love she would mention it to her Mom and her Mom would jump up and say “MOJO MOJO” and start shouting positive words and different sounds in a very lively manner that would make everyone happy and would put them in a frame of mind for the problem to be taken care of.

Venus always does these fun mojo’s on her television show and radio show. I remember once after doing one for a man on the radio she said now how do you feel and he said “the truth is I feel a bit wobbly”. That’s exactly how they make you feel.

Now the reason for my telling you all this is that Venus has recorded these mojo’s for us and is selling them on her site for your MP3. I got them and they are so wonderful. I listen to them  and dance around the house smiling and laughing. The recordings are done professionally with so much magic in them between the music and the little child laughing at the beginning who I am assuming is her granddaughter. On one of them, I think its the lucky mojo, there is a man’s voice that says “Oh ya” or something that makes me laugh so much.

I believe there is a special at the moment if you get them all together you pay a little cheaper then if you bought them all separately. Although they are not expensive anyway and so worth it.

I think I’m going to play the Happiness one at the beginning of my Motivation, Passion & Cupcake Inspirational Get-together to get everyone happy and smiling and in the mood for healing. Set the mood.

Divine Travels of the Ha Ha Sisterhood – Day One (Part 2) & Day Two (Part 1)

Hello Everyone. Welcome to the Psychic Cottage Blog. I have a feeling these blogs are going to go on until my next vacation as I’m taking this long to get them out.

So we haven’t travelled very far yet we are still in Pictou.

We stayed at the Evening Sail Bed and Breakfast …….

in the Driftwood Room. …..

Ironically (or I’m sure my sister arranged it that way) that is the name of the street where we grew up near Jane & Finch. Before it was Jane and Finch. The mall was actually a field. Hard to believe eh?

(My sister told me about a cool story about the colour of the building and how it represents long time ago how they would use everything from the whale and the blood to paint the houses but I could find nothing on line about it. If anyone knows about it let me in on it. Although I’m glad they used all the whale it still sounds somewhat creepy to have your house painted in blood. Reminds me of a horror flick.)

Check out the suite. It was so so beautiful. There’s a nice orb over my head in the corner while I’m doing my work. Kind of cool.

All I could think of was Jenny and the City Cottage when I was in this room as I thought she would love it so much. I want a bed like that. Isn’t it wonderful?

So we went out on the town for a bit and we came across a lovely little store called Casper Gifts and Crafts. The cutest thing happened in the store. My sister kept saying that the owner looked like someone and wondered if she knew her. The owner said that everyone thinks she looks just like Elizabeth Manley. My sister realized that this was it and why she looked so familiar. Here’s proof. She let us take her picture. Diane surprised me and bought me a sweet little witches’ hat broach from the store. Our mascot wore it throughout the trip. I’ll show you our mascot later on.

We went to bed early snuggled in our fancy beds with the fire place low after watching some movie about an italian boy and then the big treat in the morning was breakfast at the Evening Sail.

Yum Yum. You won’t believe the spread they put on. She did tell us that it was family style and boy what a family. The table was huge. We were a bit late so I didn’t want to get a picture when everyone was eating but check out the table. They said that when they bought the Bed and Breakfast that the table came with it and apparently it is two tables put together so it stayed where it was and was only moved when they cleaned which I’m thinking is continuously as the place was imaculate.

Evening Sail is owned by a Mother, Gail, and Daughter, Michelle team.

Now let me tell you about the breakfast. Oh I would so stay there again. It was so delicious. Before breakfast was served they had juice, coffee, tea, fresh muffins, amazing jam and cereal. Other stuff I can’t remember too. Then they served to each of us a plate of this quiche that was like over 3 inches high with a bowl of fruit and a scone that was just beautiful with candied sugar on top. Oh my mouth is watering as I’m writing this. They are well known for their waffles too. Gail sat at one end of the table and Michelle sat at the other and they shared their many stories about the area and kept the conversation going. It was delightful! Oh I so want to go back.

There was a property next door to theirs for sale and I said to my sister they should buy that and open a little tea room because they sure know how to cook!

We gathered up all our belongings after breakfast and headed out to Cheticamp.

Stay tuned for more exciting magical stories about our trip!

Congratulations Bobby!

September 26th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good Day everyone. How are you this cool sweet day.

Well he did it. Bobby ran his first marathon today with Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon in Toronto. It’s now officially off his bucket list.

Here’s before the race. There were masses of people. There was one picture that looked like a painting as I messed up but I really like the picture. They have pace bunnies you can run with so you keep your time. Here’s a picture of Bobby and some of his running buddies.

Let’s start at the beginning. Bobby was a big guy before. I think his biggest was 308 pounds. I’m far from judging just letting you know how far he has come to do this marathon.

Here’s a picture of him then. I don’t think he was at his biggest here. He was the same person but he wasn’t healthy as well he had headaches all the time. The transformation came in the form of one ignorant person (who may be called an Angel as he started the change in Bobby) who said that people in Canada are gross and fat and he said to Bobby look at you you can’t even get close to the counter with that gut on you. Bobby was horrified that this person said this to him and he mulled it over and over and over. Some point in the near future from this incident he started Weight Watchers. When my husband does something he does it all the way and he ended up losing over 100 pounds. He ended up quite sickly though and looked thin and I was nervous at how he looked a bit like a skeleton. He gained a bit back and started to feel more safe and healthy.

At that point Bobby had to do a job interview at work that involved physical exercises as well as running and it turned out even though he was quite thin he was out of shape. That lead him to The Running Room. This is where he found his love of running. I talked about it way back in my blog here. Geez that wasn’t too long ago. He surely has done well.

Who knew back many many years ago when “Red” gave him his native name “Bear Running” that the name meant more than he realized.

I’m totally proud of Bobby. It’s been a lot of work training for this marathon and he has been diligent with his training.

Here’s a video of his finishing. Bobby. He had this big smile on his face when he said “I tore a muscle in my leg” like it was a good thing.

He was so tired and walking like a duck which I can well appreciate after running all that way. I also have a video (which I can’t upload for some reason) of Bobby putting his 26.2 on the car. He has been waiting to put this sticker on for a long time. I’m sure the tattoo is coming shortly.

Woo Hoo Bobby. I’m so proud of you. You have come a long way. I guess in a way its a lesson on how one person who can hurt you so much can also inspire you to do great things.

Love you Tons my Guy thank you for being you. I just got to thinking what you are going to do next. My mind keeps going to an Ironman!
