CIBC Run for the Cure – 2010

Howdy Friends. What’s cookin’?

Today is the day we went to the CIBC Run for the Cure. It was a 5K run. It was the celebration run at the end of my course at The Running Room.

Here’s a youtube video of us heading out to the run. I’m having such fun with my little video on the camera we bought

I’m kind of glad it was somewhat of a loosy goosy run because there was no time or anything and if you walked, ran or crawled or for that matter went home to bed no one would notice. I ran for a bit but I really wasn’t into running the whole way. It was freezing and I mean freezing. I wore a t-shirt for some strange reason known only to the good Lord above. I think I needed a snow suit. I did a few 10 minute runs but mostly walked. Bobby came back and met me after running the 5K and he said he saw me strolling along looking at the landscape.

I started running near the finish line to look like I was somewhat trying.

My team from the Running Room ran over the finish line with me. That was very cool. Lesley was our coach for the Ladies Learn to Run and she’s the best. Very thoughtful and at the end she gave us a cool present to wear around our neck and attach a picture.

All the way Bobby is saying, what was your time. I explained to him that it doesn’t really matter and I surely don’t care. Is it only me or does it really matter what time anyone runs in? I know it matters for the Boston Marathon and other things but a fun run shouldn’t be that serious.

I said to Bobby listen “If I came in first or last I’m still me.” He doesn’t get me.

We met Bobby’s sister, Kimmi, and her daughter, Sahra, son, Jason and beautiful granddaughter, Ashley at the run. Here are some pictures.

I especially love this picture of Kimmi, Jason & Ashley at the end of the race. Too cute.

There was a group that had on the back of their shirts “Too Blessed To Be Stressed”. I thought what a great saying. They let me take a picture.

So that’s it. I did my first 5K run/walk (lol) and it was lots of fun.

It is a beautiful picture isn’t it. If I could name it I would call it “surrounded by love”. You are like the youngest and prettiest Grandma around. It was a great day! Thanks for being there. Sharon
