LoveDare
Good Afternoon Dear Friends. Welcome to the Psychic Cottage Blog.
My life is so blessed and I get to meet the most interesting people and friends in my travels. Thank you all for being in my life.
A few weeks ago by chance I met the coolest and most interesting and very psychic spiritual guy whose name is Claude La Vertu.
When I found out he is an author and wrote the book LoveDare I had to read it. I got a copy and waited for a day when no one was home and sat down and read it. I couldn’t put it down. I read it from the beginning to end in one swoop. I think it took me a good few hours to do it but It was like I was in the story by reading it. His writing is beautiful. This book helped me to understand so much about things. I found myself saying to myself ahhh now I get it. It was amazing and very beautiful. It was full of twists and turns and a few OMG`s and a great story all ending with the power of life and love.
He has another book coming out soon too and I can’t wait to read it. I’m so excited.
Pick up a copy of his book. You will be glad you did. Go to Claude`s site here.
When buzzing around on youtube I found Claude talking about money on this clip. It is really interesting.

Oopsie Daisy
Hello Everyone. What’s Doing out there in Blogland?
So yesterday I went to my friends’ new home. This home is just so beautiful it belongs in House & Homes. Very cool my dear Friends. Congratulations. We even saw three foxes dancing around in the back of their land. It was really amazing to watch them.
That’s not the story the story is when I was leaving I am backing out (they live in the country and it was so dark) and don’t I go right in the ditch. More of a culvert. Poor Daisy was hanging there like something out of a 007 movie teetering on the edge of falling into this big pit.
I don’t know what I was thinking but somehow I headed right there.
Both of my friends burst out laughing and as Amanda is roaring with laughter stops and says “Let me get my camera”. She thought it was hilarious.
It was kind of funny actually.
We call ourselves the three Sak Angels for our initials and get togethers are always so lovely. Good Food, Fun and Laughter.
Thank the good Lord that Amanda’s husband is building the house himself and just happens to have bulldozer’s everywhere. He hooked me up and had me out of the ditch in a jiffy. They did mention to turn the car around and not to back out again. Thanks Roger.
Amanda’s wonderful compassionate daughter Alicia was the sensitive one and said “as long as you are ok” which sent Karen and Amanda in hysterics once again.
Here’s a picture:
I came out of the car and said “I think I’m stuck” which sent Karen into convulsions.
This could only have happened to me.
Amanda who lives on her motorcycle said to me when sending the pictures: “Like we say on the bikes Sharon – keep the rubber on the road Imao!!!”
Sometimes I just have to ask myself “Why Me?”.
I wonder if when she does her landscaping she will add Daisies in that spot just to have a laugh when she goes by it?

Yoga Makes me Nauseous & My New Gucci Spectacles
Good Day Everyone. What’s Cookin?
I’m not sure what it is about yoga but every time I go I feel like throwing up. It’s not because its hard (which it is) because I go at my own pace but I’m really going to ask the teacher about this. I’m taking Belly Dancing and Aqua Fit and a walking course at the Running Room (that sounds hilarious doesn’t it) but it’s only the yoga that has this effect on me. This I don’t remember from before when taking yoga. Maybe its the room because it is the only one I have in that room at the gym. Nonetheless I’m having a blast.
This morning we went glasses shopping.
I’ve had the same glasses since the beginning of time and the paint is peeling off them and they are like 4 prescriptions back plus I have lost the sunglasses part in Las Vegas. I don’t think about it they just help me see. Now that we have a new prescription we went to get our new glasses. WOW is all I can say. There are so many beautiful glasses out there. I would love a different pair for every day (Ed Hardy ones would be cool) but they are quite expensive by the time you add everything. Also, being my age I need the ones that help me read. What a buzz it will be not to have to pull my glasses up to read anymore.
The optician was like when you get them you look here to read, here to walk down stairs, here to do this and that. I’m like I’m not sure I’m that co-ordinated. Obviously he has never seen me in Yoga.
I’m up for the challenge though. Plus they have that sun glass part when you go outside. How cool is that?
I got the most pretty pair that I saw at the last minute. First I picked these funky ones that were cute but they said they would have to change them a bit to add the readers and I was thinking inside I’m not sure that’s a good idea. If they are meant to look one way they might look another. Then I saw them. They were Gucci and adorable. The actual metal is lavender when you hold them a certain way. Love em, Love em, Love em. Thank Goodness they looked good on my face because I would have probably got them anyway. Just kidding.
It was a wonderful experience. The woman really helped me choose. Bobby is kind of like those are nice for every pair I put on. It’s a hard choice. It’s one that is going to be there on my face for years.
I was contemplating Laser Surgery but I got a little creeped out about the whole thing. I love the idea about my face being glassless but I’m not that brave. My logic for getting it is if the world ever went to h*ll in a breadbasket where would we get glasses to see? No worries not that I believe this will happen. I think my fear comes from a twilight zone I saw long time ago about this poor soul who only wanted to read and he was the only one in the whole world left and he finally after searching everywhere found a library and immediately broke his glasses. If he had laser surgery this wouldn’t have happened. Just kidding you guys I’m nuts but not that nuts. (Although from writing this I don’t feel so bad because I think the reading part isn’t fixed in laser surgery? Hmmm.)
So that’s all that is going on in my life at the moment. Not too exciting.
I promise promise promise to get the newsletter out. I’m not sure why I’m being so tardy on this one. Summer is no excuse is it?

Ok I kind of put the above in for fun because I found it when looking for an appropriate quote. The thing is though I actually remember this being said growing up and everyone thought it was true. How old am I eh?
Be happy dear Friends.

Soap & Glory
Good Afternoon Dear Blog Friends. How are you all doing? I’m feeling mighty fine.
I know I’m always ranting and raving about one product or another but its just I get so excited about things. I know get a life Sharon right?
So as not to keep you in suspense I will get right to it. I found the coolest product at Shoppers Drug Mart. It’s called Soap & Glory.
Here’s the link to the website: Soap & Glory
What made me try it in the first place was the branding. It has the best pictures on it. Somewhat like old time ago stuff and the sayings on it are hilarious.
Here’s a sample of it:
They have this spray you put on after a shower, I think its called Girlingo, and this cream for your elbows and the most wonderful gloss that pumps up your lips. The ingredients and smells are so amazing.
Since I have been using it my friend is always touching my arms and saying how soft I am. I feel so pretty and feminine and it tricks me because of the advertising in the product I feel like I’m doing something from a long time ago.
I wish they had shampoo and conditioner. I can just imagine shaking my head and the scent of bergamont and oranges fills the room.
The best part is its not expensive at all!

Graceful Yogi’s We Are Not.
Good Morning Everyone. Is this not one wonderful day? The energy is hopping. I love waking up to mornings when I can feel its just going to be one good day all round.
Bobby and I joined Yoga at the Gym and we are hilarious. Everyone is like graceful spiritual birds and we are like two bulls in a china shop.
I’m sure these people have been doing it a while but still we are loud and crashing all over trying to balance and giggling at ourselves. The teacher was very gracious however and came over and said is this your first time? We didn’t have the heart to say we had already been a couple of times. We are getting a bit better. We even got our own mats. The ones at the gym were so creepy and you didn’t want to put your face on them. Yes mine is pink.
It’s so hard. I used to do it long time ago so I’m sure it will come to me at some point. I even went once to a yoga retreat when I was younger. It was so great. I think it was at a monastery somewhere. I remember one day we did laughing yoga where you just laughed and the room opened up to this wonderful energy.
Bobby whispers to me “This is easy I think I used to be a Yogi in another life.” which sent me into hysterics as I fumbled around.
Stay tuned I have some stuff to tell you. I’ll write later.

Cupcakes, Cookies, Clogs and Oh Ya Giant Hornets
Hello Everyone. How are you this beyond gorgeous day? I’m hoping everyone is doing what they love to do and have found their passion.
Yesterday we went to Cobourg for the festival and it was really exciting. Well as exciting as things like that get. We went with our dear friends Janet and Joe and it was tons of fun.
It was a day full of strange events but then I guess I was in it so what else is new.
It started out by the Rotary Club charging like $7 each for the craft show. We were a little taken aback and confused as we weren’t sure if it was the entrance into the festival or the craft show. I asked and got the answer that yes it was for the full event. Hmm. Then we found out it was just for the craft show. Now if its going to charity that’s one thing but I couldn’t seem to get the information out of them. Hmmm. The guys basically walked around the outside and surely wouldn’t have spent $14 if they knew it was just to tag along with us. Shame shame on you Rotary Club. I felt sorry for the vendors that rented a table because people weren’t going in really.
As we were walking around this huge and I’m not pulling your leg (ok a little) hornet or some sort of long bodied creature went right onto my arm where you give blood and stung me. I was so surprised it happened. It started to swell up as I’m not too good with those things and swell and swell and sting. Almost like my whole arms was getting stiff. Thank goodness there was this wonderful wonderful lady there who helped me. The name of her booth was “Trish’s Salts & Scrubs” I’m assuming her name was Trish? Well as soon as she hears what happened she runs to my rescue. She puts some eucalyptus on it and then some tea tree oil. Ahhhh. The pain starts to go away. Within about 10 minutes it was completely gone. Gone Gone Gone. Isn’t that amazing.
The link to Trish’s wonderful products and knowledge is here “Trish’s Salts & Scrubs“.
So that was the beginning of our day. Trish probably saved us a trip to the hospital. Thank you so much Trish. Thank you for being you.
Another cool thing that happened (not that the hornet was cool but being saved by essential oils was really cool) was that there was this wonderful booth that had cookies and you guessed it cupcakes. Yum Yum. They were so pretty. Janet bought me a cupcake. OMG it was so delicious. It even was the last one and had “pink” icing my favourite. God is good. The booth was adorable and the lady that made them had on this wonderful top matching the booth all red and white stripes. You know I love branding. The website for this yummy place is “Sugar Dust Bakery“. She had all these wonderful cookies too.
Not that that wasn’t all enough excitement for me there was a booth at the festival with wooden clogs. Do you remember those clogs? I think they used to be called Dr. Scholl or something or other. (See Darlene’s comments she thinks they were called Clarks.) These were the funkiest colours and I can’t wait to save and get a pair. I was just talking the other day to someone about how much I missed my wooden clogs. They said the same thing. I said I wish they still had them. Low and behold Jill shows up at the Cobourg Festival selling her wooden clogs. Her site is here but it doesn’t seem to be set up yet. Keep trying. (If you are interested and can’t get on the site I have her card just email me. ) Apparently she is importing them from Sweden. OO la la. I used to live in them. I had a blue leather pair and a brown suede pair. Other than losing the ‘tards here’s what they look like. I found this picture on the net for you.
I found these clogs on line too. They are very delicious. They are called Cape Clogs. They are in the US though. I’m seeing if they deliver. I would like a Daisy pair! Or a Poppie Pair. Oh ya.
So that was my adventures yesterday. Then we went to Joe and Janets and they made us the best dinner. He even made from scratch tszaki sauce. Yum Yum.

Meghan’s Light
Hello Dear Friends. How are you this strange night?
I have been feeling a bit melancholy all day and I was playing on the net and found the following story about a woman Meghan and how she kept a blog called The Bees Knees during her first finding out about her breast cancer until she passed away at which point her husband Adam took over the blog and is making it his mission in her honour to complete her goal list.
Being a cancer survivor from age 13 I found her story fascinating and so very touching. I read it from beginning to end. I felt like I got to know her and what she offered to the world by telling her story. She blasted through her pain and made it into something she was experiencing the good and the bad. She could have pulled within and could have been angry and resentful yet she shared her story and now her story will help so many people experiencing what she went through. It is very humbling and makes one very grateful for every day on our great Earth.
When I had cancer it was very shameful. The word couldn’t even be spoken . It was called the “C” word for the fear of what was connected to it. We are in a different era now. Meghan shows in her blog that it is a fight and you fight with all you got. I found it amazing that she didn’t waiver from that place of strength. I loved when she said its “my” body and I will show everyone what is involved. Maybe not in those words but in similar words. How so very proud I am to have read her story. It is interesting that through all the pictures graphic or othewise she remains very beautiful and proud.
God Bless you Meghan. Thank you for being you and for sharing your light with us.

Happy 60th Birthday Diane!
Hello Dear Friends. Welcome.
Today is a special blog to celebrate my sister Diane’s 60th Birthday.
Diane is known as Lavender Lady in the newsletter as she has a gift of poetry so you will know her from there.
Having a Sister is such a wonderful blessing. I can’t imagine my life without her. I do love her with all my heart. She is always in my thoughts and prayers. I am very blessed to have her in my life.
Here’s a picture of us when we were younger. (I wish I still had that car now.)
I thought it would be a wonderful gift to her to allow all her family and friends to write something that they want to say to her for her birthday. I thought it to be a cool idea. So here we go. Some have forwarded pictures.
If you are reading this and want to add birthday wishes and didn’t get a chance to send anything please either send to me and I will add to it or write a comment. I know it will make her heart sing.
These are in no particular order.
Pat has been Diane’s friend since forever and is a wonderful Artist. You can visit her blog here. This is what she wrote:
“To Diane,
Thank you Angels, for sending me such a perfect forever friend. I love you Di.” Pat B.
Here is a couple of pictures she sent. The first is of Pat and Diane.
The next picture Pat sent was very cool because it had the three of us in it and our fake dog.
Here are some wishes from Lesley’s Family. Lesley is just so cute and her children and husband are wonderful. Cailyn is right to the point of what birthday’s are about, too cute.
“Happy 60th Birthday Diane!!
We are truly thankful to be a part of your life. Your free-spirited, fun-loving and unconditional love is just….awesome!!!!! There is no one else like you Diane and we wish to send ALL of our love to you :)”
xoxo Lesley and Kevin
Words from Taylor:
“Happy 60th Birthday….we’ve had fun all of the times we’ve been to your house. Hope you have a great birthday”….Love Taylor
Words from Cailyn:

Next is from Diane’s sweet friend Glenys. Some people are just so wonderful. Glenys is always helping everyone. She never stops. It’s hard not to smile when Glenys is in the room, she is like sunshine. This is what she wrote.
“Birthday wishes to my friend Diane.
If the wind is still, Diane will create a breeze in your life and make you alert.
If the sun isn’t shining she will make you smile.
If you are feeling lonely, she invites you in.
If you want a giggle, she puts on a show.
If you need a friend, she is always there.” Glenys
Thank you dear Glenys and if you find that photo send it along and I will put here.
My Brother David said the following: “Happy Birthday Diane. Love you” David
Cheryl is my friend and added her own little birthday wishes for my sister.
“Happy 60th to your sister Diane.” Cheryl
The following is from my Bro Alan and my wonderful Sister-in-Law Darlene. Love you Both.

Big Brother & Sister-in-law”
They sent this picture of Diane and her husband when Alan helped them put up a mural on the wall downstairs. How hilarious is that?
This is from Penny Diane’s lovely neighbour and friend.<
“Have a good one Diane. Remember 60’s not so bad – you could be turning 61! Remember to say Hi to Elvis from his #1 Fan up in Rock & Roll Heaven – Tony.” Penny
This is from Diane’s dear Friend Hilda:
“Birthdays should be a special time as everyone should know.
It means living another year of living another year to grow.
Birthdays should be a special time for each to then reflect,
On the past and on the present and what the future might expect.
Birthdays should be a special time to start anew,
Setting goals and working to make each and every dream come true.
Happy 60th Birthday Diane. Hilda
You all know my wonderful neice Becki (dog groomer extraordinaire) from my newsletter.
“Most people are afraid to express themselves the way my Aunt Diane does. Her sense of humour could be described as “quirky” but she always makes people laugh. Her style may not be conventional, but it belongs to her and reflects who she is. Diane is not afraid to laugh out loud or shed a tear of joy or sadness. Her personality itself is truly comforting and I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoys her loving energy. Happy Birthday to the woman who always makes sure she says “I love you”. We love you too.Becki, Brian and Tyler”
Becki sent in this picture from her wedding walking with my Brother David (her Dad) with Diane in the background.
My cousin Cindy remembers the funniest things about growing up. I remember none of it but the things she comes out with are just so cute. Here’s what she wrote when I asked for something:
“I can’t believe she’s turning 60, boy do I feel old now, and I can’t believe how much you two look alike, makes me think of the old days when we played together at your house, I can remember I would stay over and your mom would make us eggs in the morning and I would eat the yolks and you would eat the white part, that was on Rogers Rd I think. Say hi to her for me and wish her a great big Happy Birthday for me ok. ”
Then she sent this from her Mom and her.
Hi Sharon I was speaking to mom the other night and her message to Diane is Happy 60th from your favorite Aunt Doris & Uncle Sam, we appreciate all your calls over the years and we always enjoy your visits they mean so much to us, we love you. Have a great birthday. And my message to her is I’m catching up to you, so please slow down I don’t want to be 60 yet….LOL Have a great day and hope we can get together this summer and have a blast. Your cousin Cindy Happy 39th Birthday Diane. Thanks Sharon this is such a great idea, you take care. Cindy
This is from our cousin Shelley:
“Sorry for the belated birthday wishes for Diane but please tell her I think of her often always with a smile on my face. She was such an influence in my life and I recall times on Rogers Rd. a lot. Like the time we all had our wet hair wrapped in towels and Diane put on the music. We were all dancing with our turbins till they fell off and we ended up wrapping around our hips and doing the twist. We had a lot of fun together. happy birthday Diane. Also I want to say how much my mother loves and appreciates her.”
Mary wrote the following:
“Happy Birthday Diane. It’s such a pleasure knowing you for so many years and hopefully for many more years to come. You always have such a beautiful smile.” Mary
“Happy Birthday Diane.” Mr. & Mrs. Mariano
Vince sends his birthday wishes. “Happy 60th Diane”.
“Happy Birthday Diane. Lots of Love from Peter in Cuba.”
“All of our love and best wishes to our favourite Diane – we love you!” Ed jo & Paula

“Happy 60th Diane!!! I hope it was everything you hoped it would be and more… you deserve it! Thanks for being such a great friend! Georgia and I are very lucky to have you! Happy Birthday!!!!!” xoxoxoxo

Kiss Causes the Earth to Move!
Hi Everyone. How are you doing? Did you feel it? The Earthquake?
Bobby and I were in the kitchen and he was making a shrimp frozen dinner thing and said kiss me because you can’t kiss me after I have shrimp and the moment we kissed the whole house started to shake. We thought it was a large truck going by but things were moving in the house. It just took a second but it was really odd.
I was saying all day that something was going to happen. I was worried driving because I thought it would be high winds or hail.
I remember long time ago it happened too. Things started to shake in the house. Creepy.

Lonely Chick Flick
Howdy Everyone. I hope this evening blog finds everyone happy and well!
Tonight I went to see the movie Letter to Juliet.
It was so good. Ok it was a bit sappy at times and a bit slow (and totally obvious what was going to happen) but I really liked it.
Bobby was at work and I was so sick of my usual movies (It’s Complicated, Practical Magic, Hello Again) that I went to the movie by myself.
I realized a few things when I was there though. One it’s much more fun to go to the movies with Bobby, two, its really odd to eat popcorn alone, three “our” space (the one with the bar) isn’t the same when I’m not with Bobby.
All and all I guess I just missed Bobby. Next time I’ll have to wait until he can go with me to the movies.
I didn’t feel like a loser or anything just lonely.
