My New Cell Phone

Category: Musings by Sharon

Good Morning Everyone. What’s new in your world?

I thought I was the only one in the world without a cell phone so when I was getting gas the other day at  Petro Canada there was a cute little pink one and I said to Bobby I should probably get one of those one day to have in the car. The problem with the pay as you go is I do more paying than going. I never use the thing and then the next month is there and my time is all gone. This one is good because I can have the time for a long time even if I don’t use it.

I didn’t get it as it was only a ponder at the time but Bobby brought it home for me the next day. I think it gives him some comfort when I’m running all over with my little Daisy.

I remember the one time I probably should of had a cell phone I was driving this old clunker named Lucy and she kind of did this sputtering thing and left me at the side of the road in the middle of no where. So I did what anyone else would do I said “OK God I’m here and no one knows I’m here so can you send someone along for me whose safe”.

Sure enough along comes Martin to my rescue. I think he was an Angel. He stopped right after I said that and he lent me his cell phone to call Bobby and sat with me and then when Bobby came he said ok gotta go someone else up there needs my help.

Our next car we bought was a Matrix and we called him Martin.

I’m not suggesting this to anyone out there to do as sometimes I do march to a different drum. Probably staying in your car with the doors locked until CAA comes is my suggestion to you and of course always have a cell phone. I knew though I was safe and I guess that is part of being a psychic.

I was all excited and sent my son a text and said  “Mama can Text” and he wrote back and said he didn’t get anything with a big happy face beside it. Oh well I tried.”. Back to email I guess until I figure this silly phone out.

Now I can dream of one day actually owning a blackberry and I can be one of those people that stare into it day in and day out. Actually, I’m in my own little world anyway if I bought one of those things I’d be walking into walls. I hope we don’t all morph into people with these little tiny thumbs. Someone should be measuring the thumbs of the new people coming to the planet.

Quote for you:

“To be happy in this world, first you need a cell phone and then you need an airplane. Then you’re truly wireless.” Ted Turner

Geez and I thought it was peace within that provided happiness! Ha Ha.

Until we meet again, Sharon

Love this post! Yes it would really help if keypads were the right size for people’s digits. I’ve been trying to get a phone for my dad for emergencies, but his thumb covers 4 buttons on most models.
Hmm… this must be a problem for quite a few people. I wonder…..

Hi Suzanne. Thanks for writing. Isn’t it true! I can’t figure out how to do those little keys and I’m amazed that the kids (well or my friend Carolyn) can do it so fast!
