Yard Work and Funny Neighbours

Category: Musings by Sharon

Welcome to the TPC Blog on this wonderful day. Ahhh it is so beautiful here in Ontario. God is good.

I have a funny story to tell.

My husband looks completely different as he lost 100 pounds (yes you heard me right) on Weight Watchers. I’m very proud of him and he is now actually a Leader for Weight Watchers as he believes in it so much. Yes I too am a member as it’s just too hard to have two people in the same house not eating the same. I relented kicking and screaming all the way. I think it was the time when he was exercising and I was sitting on the couch watching TV eating HƤagen-Dazs that was the last straw. So when the moon was right I too joined. It’s easy when there is a Leader in the house. A little preachy but easy.

So where I was going with this blog is that our neighbour thinks that my husband is a different person. The timing is such that we have a new car in the weight transition and my husband did at one time have a 24 inch pony tail (which he donated to Locks of Love) and has short hair now. Each time my husband is outside doing something the neighbour comes over and starts talking about my husband of 100 pounds ago and saying not nice things about him. I’m not sure why he didn’t like him when he was 100 pounds bigger but I guess we all judge through eyes of our past. It’s the oddest thing because we have the same dogs and he has the same wife so I’m not sure what he is thinking. Maybe he thinks I have a new husband which I kind of do.

My husband takes it all in stride. Personally I think I would at some point show him the before and after pictures (after crying my eyes out) but he just thinks it’s funny. Knowing him he probably joins the conversation sayings things about the old him just to get him going for his own amusement.

Life is so very funny isn’t it.

I will leave you with this quote on this glorious sunny day:

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” Mother Teresa

Until we meet again, Sharon
