Happy Birthday David.

January 31st, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello Dear Blog Friends.

Today is my brothers birthday and I wanted to say Happy Birthday to him.

Check out this picture of the two of us when we were little. Isn’t it adorable. I look horrified so I don’t know what was going on in my brain at the moment. David looks like a little gentleman.

David was my Aunt’s favorite. She loved him so much. She had a nickname for him that I won’t share with you because I think people from David’s work read my blog. He won’t be too pleased if they start calling him by this name.

David has worked hard all his life to look after his kids. He took care of business lots of times when most men would crumble. I’m very proud of him.

David is always the one that is there for you in a pinch. He’s a mover and a shaker. When I’m thinking about what should be done he’s already done it.

My father lives in David. It’s hilarious when we are together as a family one thing leads to another and before you know it we are all crying and holding our stomachs because we can’t laugh any more. How healthy is that. It’s usually from the crazy memories we all have of growing up.

So Happy Birthday Brother. We love you. Thanks for being you.

Pet Styling by Becki

January 30th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Good Morning Dear Friends. Welcome to The Psychic Cottage Blog.

My husband was out this morning and then came in and said “if I tell you something will you be honest with me?” I thought it a weird question and said yes and he hugged me and said “is it cold outside”. He was freezing! Funny guy.

Today’s blog is about Becki. Becki is my beautiful niece and she is an animal groomer. Pet Stylist is her word which is absolutely adorable.

Becki lives in the Peterborough area so if you live near there and are in need of an amazing pet groomer you will want to check out her salon.

We drive our dogs out to her because one of our dogs, Blue, is getting on and a bit nervous when it comes to grooming. This way we know they are taken care of. I swear you can see her smiling after she sees Becki. She prances around like she is a princess. Usually she minds her own business and does her own thing but after a grooming she sits by you and smiles and you think she is saying “look at me” “look at me”.

Here’s a picture of ours dogs Bandit and Blue.

Becki has always loved animals. My Brothers house was full of these creatures when Becki was growing up. Cats, dogs, everything you can imagine.

So have a look at her website Pet Styling by Becki and her new Dog Blog.

Congratulations Becki. Success looks good on you. Thank you for being you. We love you.

Kim Salad

January 29th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. We are back to the cold. I guess I spoke too soon.

Today at work I heard the whisper. “Kim Salad” “Kim Salad”. Oh goody I thought I’ll have to get me some.

Kim is a lovely lady at work. I’m not sure what the office would do without her. She’s is there early morning and works so many hours. She is always the one who empties the dishwasher and organizes things. She always has a smile on her face.

The one exciting thing that Kim does is every so often she makes a Kim Salad.

She has this huge bucket thing that you would probably use for washing dishes that she got for salad and she goes to the supermarket and buys everything she can get her hands on and she makes this huge mother of a salad. You will find things in this salad that you would never think about. It’s always different each time too which is so much fun.

Today’s salad had spinach, cheese, these hard little things that were delicious, lettuce. Oh my goodness she puts everything in there.

She always buys fresh salad dressing and never one kind.

The fun part is she puts it all in this huge bucket and then whoever wants some has it.The best part is it makes so many people happy. It’s not the salad (let’s get real here?) its that it is made with love.

She is such a nice soul to share with everyone. It’s great fun and I think that’s what makes it so extra special.

Thanks Kim for being you.

Don’t Go in That Room!

January 27th, 2010 | Category: memories,Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

How are you doing out there? The energy seems to be shifting from that heavy energy that has been hanging around. Maybe its just something that is happening to me but I feel it getting lighter.

Did you get the TPC Newsletter? I hope so. Such fun it was. If you didn’t and want a copy make sure you email me at info@psychiccottage.com or you can sign up yourself on the right here where indicated.

I was talking to my friend the other day and we were talking about something from when we were young and I mentioned something to her that kind of cracked me up.

When I was younger I babysat for people which alone cracks me up. This one apartment I went to the lady before leaving said “Don’t go in that Room”. Ya right.

She made such a big issue. I couldn’t wait for the kids to go to sleep to check it out.

At first I was a bit weirded out like what the h*ll is in there right?

Once the kids were fast asleep and I knew they were really asleep I went in. It was wall to wall furniture and junk piled on top of each other. All the other parts of the apartment were neat and tidy but this room was like something blew up. Like a storage unit would look.

I remember when they came back they asked again to make sure I didn’t go in. Nope! Not me.

Too funny the things we remember from our past.

I’m so Proud.

January 25th, 2010 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

What’s new in your World? I hope this blog finds you having fun.

I have to tell you I am so proud of my husband.

As you remember from my blog of some time ago my husband joined The Running Room.

Everything he does he does with gusto. I do love this about him.

He started out on his own  with his bright green shirt running his short little run but now he is running like 18 kilometres or more. He is also training for a run called Around the Bay which is I think 30 kilometres.

How so very cool is that?

Running sounds very spiritual however there isn’t enough noni juice in the universe to get me to run 18 kilometres on a Sunday afternoon for fun. No way.

To all you runners out there including our good friends Ralph and Rod.. “Way to Go”. Run Safe!

Barefoot

January 21st, 2010 | Category: memories,Musings by Sharon

Good day everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

The other day I was chatting with my Hubs about something or other and we were talking about bare feet and he reminded me about something I told him long time ago about an old boyfriend of mine when I was young.

Now you won’t believe this even if I told you but when I was a teenager a lot of people walked around in public with bare feet. It’s not something we would do today and personally I can’t remember doing it myself but it was something that was done.

I was reminded about this time when I was in the hospital and my boyfriend or maybe he was my friend at the time showed up at the hospital with no shoes on.

My father was furious! He couldn’t believe that someone would have the audacity to do that. Looking back it sure was an odd thing to do and totally unhealthy at that.

This guy would walk everywhere barefoot. I wonder what he does today? Interesting thought. I am wondering what he would do at school? Was it allowed back then to go to school with bare feet?

Does anyone else remember this time or was it something that was just happening in my little dysfunctional world at the time. Maybe it was a hippie thing?

Oops!

January 20th, 2010 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

This will teach me for ordering a computer during Mercury Retrograde.

I got a call last night saying that my Pink Dell was on its way! Who Hoo. I was home today anyway so it worked out.

I waited here all day and no laptop. Calling around I found out……it showed up to the warehouse soaking wet! Unbelievable.

Actually even though this is kind of a sad thing to happen I’m somewhat relieved as I was horrified to think that my Dell was made during Mercury Retrograde and was it going to bring with it a lifetime of being a lemon.

Now the Universe has switched it and my new Dell is being made as we speak. So I need to wait a little longer but hey I won’t have to worry as much.

It would have always been in the back of my head. What was I thinking I have no idea?

That’s it for now. Just keeping you posted on Delivery. So tonight we will have the CB radio show again. Static City. That’s ok. Worse things have happened.

Be happy my Friends.

My web guy Extrodinaire, “Mouth Media” are putting a link in the next week or so so watch for it. It’s mighty colourful! I used every flavor I could. Did you know there is a thing called Hex Codes and you can put on the computer any colour your  little heart desires. Like really? How cool is that?  Constant Contact gave me the website called www.colorcop.net
