Remember When?
Hello Dear Friends. Welcome to The Psychic Cottage Blog. I hope your day is a blessed one.
I actually wrote this yesterday but hello three blogs in one day not counting the ones I do for another blog was a little much. Time brings out the writer in me.
When Bobby and I were out and I was getting his happy face cake for his birthday I remembered about the most amazing birthday cake in the world from my past. Many moons ago Eaton’s and Simpsons were connected by a tunnel and you could go underneath the street. My Mom and I would go downtown and we would walk through. There would be these little carts zooming by on their way somewhere. I never quite figured the whole thing out but I remember it was such a special time. I’m hoping my memory is serving me right and this is correct.
Where I’m going with this is that Eaton’s had a bakery and they had the most amazing birthday cake. They even had little ones you could get which I have to tell you I have bought even when there wasn’t a birthday in sight. The icing tasted so delicious and hardened a bit when it was there for a day after. I have tasted nothing like these cakes ever again. If someone could duplicate this cake or if anyone knows of anywhere that makes cakes like this please let me know.
I remember too the Christmas Windows in Eaton’s and Simpsons. We would go downtown for the Christmas Parade and look at the windows. What fun.
Simple times really. It must be hard for children now as their lives are so fast. Esther Hicks talks of children coming down computer ready as they are conceived in the time of the current energy so I’m sure a simpler time would make them a little nuts.
What fun to remember these things.

1 commentWalking after Midnight
Look at me! Two blogs in one day. I really should do something productive instead of searching the internet for interesting things.
Nonetheless I found the coolest thing on my travels. There is a young girl Hailey who has started a company called Damn Heels and she has the coolest website. You know how I love my branding.
These little ballet shoes are for when your feet have had enough of the high heels and they are ready for some comfort. I was thinking about Hailey and the Patsy Cline song came ringing in my head “I was walking after midnight” hence the title of this blog.
Not only are these little adorable flats practical but so very convenient as they fit in your purse and then they turn into a little bag to carry your heels in. Like how cool is that? (I have to tell you though mine will probably get more use as travelling slippers as my days of midnight walks in high heels are few and far between.)
Someone is getting it right. Do they come in pink yet?
Congratulations Hailey! Success looks good on you.

Happy Sunday to my Dear Friends out there in Blogland. I hope this wonderful day is treating you kindly.
I was listening to Venus (who you know I adore) on the Mojo Television Show she has with her daughter Summer (FlowDreaming) and she said something that totally inspired me. She was talking about how we all have these great ideas but we don’t do anything about them. Sure we talk about it to whoever will listen (sometimes of why we can’t do it) and we imagine it in our heads and minds and dreams but for some reason something always stops us.
The excuses are big and real really but they have to go if we want to get to where we want to get to.
We are far from alone in this one. I’m sure there are tons of people, including me, that if they acted on one small thing or even got someone to help them that things would just happen. Now I’m not talking here about when something isn’t ripe yet. This is a whole other matter. If something isn’t ripe no one can make it happen.
On Venus and Summer’s show (link here) Summer said that if you aren’t there yet just pretend that you are practicing. She said that Venus taught her that when she was young. Talk about taking the pressure off something. What an amazing idea. We spend enough time practicing what we don’t want to happen why not practice what we do want to happen.
So that’s it I’m getting off my butt and taking on a project. How about you? Are you in? I’m thinking the mojo and flowdream on their show really worked as I am feeling really inspired!

Happy Birthday Bobby
Good Morning Dear Friends. How is your world? I pray your dreams are coming true.
It’s my husband’s birthday today. I wanted to take a moment to say Happy Birthday Bobby!
Bobby as I call him even though he answers to many names is a totally cool guy. I think what I love about him the most is his conviction for making life happen.
Last year was a big one for him. He decided that he wanted to start running. You will remember my blog about it from May of last year.
Now he is wanting to run a Marathon and has completed the 30 K around the Bay. Not bad considering his age. I’m so very proud of him.
He sets his goals high and always does everything to make them happen.
We have a really great life together and the best part about Bobby is that he makes me laugh constantly. Life is good.
Bobby, Happy Birthday to you and thank you for being you. Love you!

No commentsThe Dreaded Cold Sore
Hello Everyone. How are you this lovely night?
I found out the coolest thing today and I wanted to share with you all. If you don’t get cold sores you don’t have to read this but if you do FINALLY there is a solution. One you aren’t going to believe.
Today I went to my dentist and I had this creepy cold sore. The lady that was doing my cleaning said to me that next time when I start to get the “tingle” to make an appointment as they have a new way of “get this” getting rid of cold sores.
I was like? You’re kidding right? No she wasn’t. What they do is they have a special laser thingmabob that does the trick. Apparently also the chances are that it won’t come back in the same area ever. I was in shock. My whole life I have had this cold sore dilemma. If I get stressed forget it it comes out all over the place.
If your dentist doesn’t do it drop me a line and I will let you know the name of my dentist in Oshawa that does it.
Woo hoo. A solution to a long standing problem that has plagued me forever.
Now of course use your own judgement and check with your doctor or dentist but I’m totally in and giving it a try. I think its even covered under some plans.

Good Morning Everyone. How are you this glorious Day that the Universe has provided for us to play with.
I was zooming around on the internet this morning and I saw an article about this fellow, Neil Pasricha, that started a blog called 1000 Awesome Things.
You have to check it out its such fun. He even has a book out now called The Book of Awesome. I can’t wait to get it.
What a wonderful idea. It’s like a way of feeling good when you are down or feeling better when life is sweet. The blog itself is such fun reading about all the wonderful things that make people happy. Strange little things that we take for granted like clean t-shirts, finding money in your pocket, things like that.
I’m so happy for Neil. Anyone who spreads joy around is an Angel in my eyes and that’s exactly what he is doing. Finding joy in the small things is our way of finding the big important things.
Congratulations Neil and thank you for being you. Success looks good on you.

No commentsHow are your Knees?
Hello Everyone.
How are you this delightful day?
I was thinking today about something that happened when my older boy was a little guy.
He loved and still loves the Boston Bruins. I took him to go see Bobby Orr and get an autograph. He was a little guy I remember his head barely reached the top of the table. My Son patiently waited and when he finally got to the front he said to Bobby Orr “How are your knees?”. Bobby Orr looked at this little blond cutie of a boy and just cracked up and said “they are fine thank you”. It was so adorable.
Life is like that isn’t it. We carry these little events in our mind that make us smile when we need a smile. How lucky we are. If you stop and think what is happening in order for us to just stop and think about something that happened what 24 years ago its such a miracle.
If you are feeling stuck or sad think of your own miracles and watch your energy shift.

1 commentKeep On Truckin’
Good Morning Everyone. Welcome to The Psychic Cottage Blog.
I hope this blog finds you well and happy.
The new newsletter is up so if you haven’t signed up add your email and I will make sure you get it. Even send me a quick email and let me know you want to be on it. It’s a fun one. Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family who helped in the Newsletter. Lavender Lady, Zsuzsana, Eryn, Bear Running, Kris and Phoebe Sunshine and Angiemae!
I was writing to someone today and I wrote “Keep on Truckin’ ” and I had a major flashback of when I was young.
I’m not sure how it popped out but it just did. It was my favourite saying when I was young I even had a T-shirt.
Isn’t it the best. No matter what is happening in your life just keep on going. Things will get better. They have to. The pendulum can never stay on one side of the fence forever. It’s all about Balance.
Check this out:
How adorable is that?
So my dear friends if things are not going as planned that’s ok just reach forward to a happier feeling and “Keep on Truckin’ “.

No commentsCome Feel my Feet.
Good Morning Dear Friends.
How are you this delicious morning? I’m hoping you are all loving your Now.
This morning I was awakened not by my pull aparts words of “Good Morning Honey. How Are you this Morning” but the words “Come Feel my Feet”.
The reason for this is yesterday my husband and I went for pedicures.
There were certain rules. One was that I didn’t share the information with anyone and it had to be “our little secret”. Yes I got permission before writing this. He loves that he went for a pedicure.
As you know my husband is a runner and what happens when you run long distances is that your toenails start to turn black and fall off because of the continuous rubbing against the shoes. A well known saying among runners is “Toenails are for Sissies”.
When he asked around the Running Room about what he could do to prevent this toenail dilemma they said keep getting pedicures.
He didn’t want to go in the mall where I usually go as he thought it would be too much for him so we called a friend who lives way up in Hastings to ask if she would take us for an appointment. Her business is Wrapped in Silk in Hastings. It is a lovely little place and there is a wonderful store inside too that has these beautiful gemstones. It gives the place a nice glow.
When we get there Bobby is like you go first I want to watch what she does. Like any man he questioned every tool, every cream, every”thing” that she did. He was ready.
I had to do a reading that Heather set up for me so I left them alone. I was hoping he didn’t change his mind.
When I got back there was this big smile on his face and he was saying my feet feel so good.
I knew he would love it.
All morning he has been talking about feet. My life is complete now that I know if your second toe is longer than your big toe it is called a Mortin toe. He’s like Forest Gump’s friend talking about shrimp.
We have such fun together. Now we can even share in pedicures.
