I Really Have to Stop Asking for Blog Material

May 31st, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. How are you this glorious Sunday.

I have to tell you ever since I have been on the lookout for blog material all these strange things happen. Maybe they have always happened and I just never noticed but now I look at things like “OMG stop and listen because this is great blog material”.

Today was one of those days. It started out innocently. Bobby and I went for breakfast at The Rainbow our favourite hang out and to an early show. If you go before 12 at AMC you get it for like $6. It was nice to spend a few days together because he has been working so much.

So we are all ready for our show. We go a bit early because we like the spot where the steel bar is so you can put up your feet. I know that sounds like we are lazy goats but it just makes it more comfortable. Bobby said we should put one in our living room. We probably would but it would be too hard to explain it.

So the theatre goes dark and the main show is about to come on when in walks this strange dude. He starts pacing back and forth. He was about 40 or 50 or so. Then doesn’t he sit right next to Bobby at the end of the row when the theatre is empty. I thank the Good Lord that it wasn’t me beside him because I would have had to move and Lord knows what that would have ignited in this stranger.

He was really odd he kept rubbing his face like he had the biggest problem in his life on his shoulders. I felt his weirdness as soon as he sat down and I said to Bobby are we safe sitting here?

I usually hold my husband’s hand in the theatre but this time I thought he needed his hands free in case he had to jump into action and protect me. I half thought the man was going to pull out a g*n and start sh**ting everyone. Well considering there were like 6 people in the theatre I’m thinking we might have been first on his list.

To say the least I didn’t really enjoy the show. Actually it was Terminator so I probably wouldn’t have anyway and this gave me something to think about other than the movie. I just didn’t get it? Were they in the future? Were they going back and forth? Who are these characters that everyone seems to know? Is it a true story? (HA HA just kidding on that one and I wanted to see if you were listening.)

Back to our strange movie man. So right before the show ends this man jumps up and runs down the stairs like someone was chasing him. He was one big guy too. I said to Bobby maybe he was Arnold and he wanted to see the show unnoticed? You never know?

When we got in the car and were driving home Bobby turns to me and says “I feel lucky to be Alive.” Such a sense of humour that one. We laughed all the way home I think to relieve the stress of the movie.

The Alchemist

May 30th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone.

Oh I just have so much to tell you lately. I’ve got the writing bug for sure. Chillaxin’ does that to me sometimes. Let’s my creative energy out.

I just read The Alchemist. One of Paulo Coelho’s books.  It was really good.

A person at Bobby’s work recommended it and he got it for us to read. At first I thought oh here we go another Spiritual Fable but it had some great stuff in it. Lots of new ways of looking at things and great lines. I can’t wait to get some of his other books to read. Today is a good day for that.

My favourite line in the book was “”Don’t say that again. Life might be listening, and give you less the next time.” (Paulo Coelho). It reminded me of when my son says “Don’t test God like that.”

The strange part is a few blogs ago I quoted Paulo Coelho and didn’t even put the two together. I guess reading this book was one of my signs from the Universe. God is good.

I read it quickly like one day so I might want to do a reread.

Have a read if you are so inclined. It’s totally worth it.

What kind of Car will I drive 7 years from now?

May 30th, 2009 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

Last night I agreed to do a birthday party for my friends’ sisters’ youngest daughter.Happy Birthday Natalie.

I forgot how much energy 11 year old’s have. I was exhausted.

Obviously you have to be careful when talking to young people and most of what you say is basically trying to inspire them to be everything they want to be but the questions came at me 90 miles an hour. All the same….

What will I be when I grow up?

Will I be successful?

Will I get married?

What will he look like?

What’s his name?

How many children will I have?

What will they be like?

What are my childrens’ names?

What kind of car will I drive?

Will I be rich?

Will I have a dog?

The questions were hilarious. I stressed that we all have free will and nothing I said should influence them in any way as things change, etc.I kept my answers brief and asked back many questions of them to get them thinking about what their dreams are.

It reminded me of when I went to a High School to talk to a classes on World Religion. I’m glad I prepared myself when I did that because kids today are just so smart. They had every angle coming at me. It was fun though and reminded me the great minds that are here today.

Check this Out!

May 30th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone. Welcome to the TPC Blog.

I was driving the new and improved Ms. Daisy to Toronto and you are not going to believe what the mileage was. Drum roll please………”277777″.

Is that not the coolest.

I guess “normal” people would be thinking oh my maybe my car is getting high mileage. Not me, it was like God Bless Daisy still kicking along at her age and I had this sudden urge to run to a casino and play the 5 flaming seven game. I didn’t ok I had other things to do. Maybe today though….!

I’m totally sounding like a crazy casino person aren’t I on these blogs. I’m not really. I just like strange and wonderful signs. I can’t help it if they all remind me of the casino.

Pink Dolphin

May 28th, 2009 | Category: Exciting News,Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

Did you see the pink dolphin that is all over the internet? If not here it is.

How totally cool is this? When I see this I believe in magic.

Maybe its a sign that something magical is about to happen to us humans.

I love pink. As I’m writing this I have on pink bra, shirt, jacket, and just took off my pink down vest. When I was younger I only wore pink. Went through a pink stage. Now I wear it when I can. It’s just such a happy colour and gives us faith and hope.

So let’s all pray for our pink dolphins popping up around and believe in some magic.

Here’s a link for it actually in the water.

Poor Daisy went in for Repair

May 28th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone. What’s new with you all. The rain is dreary isn’t it?

My car is having a hard time. I had to take it to the car doctor. Actually now that I write this it was probably bad timing because Mercury is coming out of Retrograde. Oops. Oh well. I’ll draw a big Mercury Symbol on it to keep it nice and healthy.

They put the computer on it and all four pistons (??) were misfiring. Not sure what that means but it sounded expensive.

I can’t not have a car. I go everywhere. I didn’t want to drive myself so I woke Bobby out of his working nights sleep and he drove over with me. He followed me and Daisy made it to the shop.

He gave me his credit card and said get it totally fixed. Anything that needs done. Probably not something you want to say to a mechanic. It worked for me though.

I was starting to get a little freaked out because there is so much freedom with having a car. I love driving anywhere I want to go.

So I got her back while writing this and she is just fine. $350 fine but fine.

Oh I watched the movie last night Raquel Gets Married. OMG how tragic. I thought it was going to be a nice happy story. It wasn’t. It was good but it wasn’t something to make you feel good that’s for sure. I watched The Women too. That was so much fun. I loved it. Meg Ryan is so cute. I loved her in that one called French Kiss. Now that’s a happy movie.

Daisy is back!

Blessings to Everyone.

May 27th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Good Morning Everyone. What a beautiful day.

Well the lottery didn’t come through but that’s ok. I still have a ticket for tonight. It was 505 instead of 555. Speaking of one number off my older boy picked 3 numbers out of 6 and was one number off each of the other 4 numbers for the 49 million. Oh my. That would have been fun. He has always been gifted with numbers. Loves the theory of odds and such. There is order in chaos.

My younger boy says to rely on the lottery is silly and it really shouldn’t even come up in conversation as your mind then assumes that the only way to move forward is by winning the lottery. I love to dream though and love to think about things like that. Dare to dream.

I was so excited when he turned 19 so I could bring him to the casino as I love the casino. He was disgusted. He said look around you have all these people doing the same thing and expecting different outcomes. He looked at me like I had two heads when I slipped a 20 in a machine. I think that was his first and last visit.

I love the casino. The noise the excitement. Ok there are a few lost people that probably shouldn’t be there. Once I saw a lady and she was hitting the dollar machine over and over and had pictures of her kids on the machine and stared at them in this odd trance like state. That kind of creeped me out a little. Also someone told me once that people wear diapers so they don’t have to leave a machine. I’m not sure if its true or not but that kind of made me want to barf a bit. All in all I love it. Probably shouldn’t but its fun.

So what is today going to bring.

Is anyone on Twitter? My name is psychiccottage if you are and want to visit. I can’t quite figure it out. I have all these followers but its hard to read anything. Maybe I’m too old. I hear Demi and Ashton made one million twitters. That’s fun. I tried to sign up with them but can’t quite figure it out.

Other than that nothing much is happening. Just deciding on whether its a clean the attic day or a “chillaxin” day. I guess I could do a little of both.

How so Very Serendipitous.

May 26th, 2009 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

I had to write. The strangest thing just happened.

I saw my lucky number 555 so I thought I’d run in and play $1.00. You never know.

When I got to my lucky store there were no Pick 3 sheets. That totally has never happened to me before. When I looked at the Pick 4 sheets the first one was already filled out. Well you know I had to play that one. Finally I got them to give me the Pick 3 sheet and for some reason it printed out two days even though I didn’t mark it as two days. She said she didn’t push anything either.

Hmmm. Is it Mercury in Retrograde going direct or is it the Universe. We’ll know tonight! I’ll keep you posted.

Ya like if I didn’t have a dollar every time I heard that line! Ha! If psychics could predict the winning numbers there would be no such thing as a psychic only Intuitive Billionaires.

Nonetheless I’ll keep you posted. (I really want to buy a neon sign for my store with it. Not the psychic hand kind. I have laughed at them for too many years. A lovely one that says The Psychic Cottage – open/closed)

Take care my Friends and may you be touched by the magic of serendipity today.

Until we meet again, Sharon.

Happy Birthday to Michael.

May 26th, 2009 | Category: Gems Along the Way,Musings by Sharon

Hello my Friends.

Today my son Michael celebrates his 20th birthday.

I’m so happy he chose me as his Mother. It has been my honour. Getting to know him as an adult these last few months has been his gift to me.

He asked me the other day why I picked the name Michael. It was strange but I knew the moment I was told I was pregnant with him that his name was Michael.

He has proven again and again the strength of my favourite Saints’ name.

God Bless you my Dear son. Now go out there and change the world.

Memories of Princess.

May 26th, 2009 | Category: Gems Along the Way,memories,Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. Another glorious day. I just remembered I have to get my snow tires off. There is going to be no tread left. That would be $500 gone quickly.

My son and I are together a lot now and we reminisce about old times.

The other day we were in the car and talking about all the houses we have lived in and our different pets etc. Then we started talking about Princess and laughing our heads off. Princess has been in spirit for a long time God love her. She was a beautiful caramel coloured Cocker Spaniel.

Princess wasn’t really our dog but the neighbour’s dog. Well yes these neighbours are close friends as we lived there for many many years. We share many a memory between our kids and animals. The kids are all friends to this day.

Princess for some reason loved to come in our house and poop right in the middle of our living room on the hard wood floor. As horrifying as it was funny I can only imagine how awful it was for our friends when we told them each time.

Princess didn’t get out much but if we had the door open it was a given. I’m exaggerating it only happened a few times but wait the story gets better.

After we moved away I guess the new neighbours left their door open and you guessed it, Princess ran in their house and pooped in the same place.

OMG can you imagine the horror on our friends’ faces? Our friends are such a lovely people and she embarrasses so easily so I can only imagine the trauma of it.

Things like that crack me up. You know someone up there has a little chess game in order to do these things. We couldn’t think of it if we tried. You almost know there is beer in heaven in order to think these things up.

Here’s another Princess story. Once when our friends were away they left the second storey window open for air in the bathroom and were gone the whole day. Princess (even in her old age) got on the toilet pushed the screen and jumped out the second storey window. Thank goodness she wasn’t hurt. She was running all over though and we noticed and brought her in. They were so surprised when they got home. She was such an adventurous dog. I wonder what she’s doing now.

So that’s it for today. God bless Princess and I hope everyone up there are keeping their front door closed.
