Crazytown?

May 30th, 2008 | Category: Musings by Sharon

Hi Everyone.

Is it my imagination or has the world turned a bit wacky these last few weeks?

I realize we are in Mercury Retrograde from the 27th of May but what is up with the Universe? It seems everywhere I go people are having these odd experiences. Me too.

Someone seems to be pulling off the lid somewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this odd energy?

I guess as Venus Andrecht always says “God always gets his Way” so we have to grin and bear it.

To keep with the oddness of this blog please see the following quote:

Experience is a comb which nature gives us when we are bald.”Ā  ~Proverb

David Loves Netti!

May 29th, 2008 | Category: Las Vegas Trip,Musings by Sharon

Hello Everyone. I apologize for my tardiness in not writing. Life sure gets ahold of you sometimes.

Well I’m back from Las Vegas! Oo la la it was a fun time. I can’t wait to go back. It’s like a giant adult theme park.

I have lots of fun stories to tell you about Vegas so stay posted for sure.

I know you are all thinking who is David and Netti and what is she talking about now?

David is my Brother. He went to Las Vegas with my sister Diane and I. My older brother couldn’t go but that’s ok we partied enough for all four of us.

Here’s my story. We get to Las Vegas really really late. Turns out the Country awards are on so its like four hours to get a cab to the hotel. We finally get on some sort of bus thing and get to the Flamingo Hotel somewhat late. We go down and gamble for a bit and then come up to go to sleep in the hotel room. Thinking its going to be an easy sleep as I’m exhausted I get into bed trying to remember that I’m sleeping with my sister and even though its a big bed not to roll over in the night and snuggle with her thinking she’s my hubs. Just start falling asleep when David starts snoring. Even though he was on the other side of the suite in his own bed it was so loud. Oh my goodness. I’m so glad Bobby doesn’t snore. I felt like I was Maggie in that Simpson’s episode when her and Bart slept over at the Aunts and you see a picture of them both with their eyes open wide and the Aunts’ snoring echoing all over the house. Actually it wasn’t that bad. I’m exaggerating. I just like getting things going. It was hard to fall asleep though.

On with the story. The next morning my sister who seems to have a solution in life for everything says to David “you are using the Netti Pot I brought”. Although she looks like she travels light she’s got a lot in there. Netti Pots, water piks. She comes prepared. This little Netti pot is the cutest little thing. It looks like a tea pot only you sure wouldn’t want to drink tea from it.

David says listen I’ve tried everything and my drops work just fine. Apparently he’s had this naselly thing forever. He said he was going to some “quack” doctor and they had him on 4 or 5 different puffers. He finally went to a normal doctor who sent him to a specialist. The specialist actually came out of his office and said is that you? You have the worst case of post nasal drip I’ve ever heard and took him off all the puffers. Now he happily goes along taking his drops and everything is fine. I guess he doesn’t have to listen to himself snore and that is before the Nettie Pot came along.

So my sister cleans up the Netti Pot and says it’s time (I had to do it too). Yes it was cleaned well between uses and you might want your own personal one just in case. It’s kind of a tricky thing. The water needs to be completely luke warm otherwise you get the worst ice cream brain freeze you ever had. You have to lean a certain way too otherwise it feels like its spreading into places you don’t want it to. I sat there doing it for like 15 minutes wondering if it wasn’t coming out where was it going until Diane told me you have to lean to the side. Doh? I don’t get out much.

Dr. Oz from Oprah is always going on about it if you need more information. I think some poor soul went on Oprah and actually did a demonstration. Hope she was paid well.

Ok back to my story. Focus Focus.

So David does this Netti Pot thing. That night he snores but not as much. The next night no snores at ALL. Can you believe it?

That’s where the story comes together. David can’t stop talking about his Netti Pot. Diane had an extra at home and gave it to him. I’ve received three emails since we got back about how much he loves it and he has told so many people about it and he loves Netti. On and On and On. When his email subject line was “I’m in Love” I was hoping he met someone until I realized he was talking about a blue Netti Pot!

So there you go. Make sure you go out and get your own little Netti Pot and fall in love with Netti too.

I’m hoping lots of people write about their own little funny experiences too!

I will leave you with this Quote:

Mothers and Butterflies

May 09th, 2008 | Category: Giving Away a Dollar a Day,Musings by Sharon

Hello my Friends. How nice of you to visit.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mother’s out there.

I wanted to tell a little story about my Mom who is in spirit . My Mother, Frances, slipped from our lives way too quickly. In a total of two weeks she was gone. We all miss her terribly. She was a kind, loving and humble lady who helped everyone. She does visit in dreams and pops in every so often to see me but I so miss her especially when I find myself thinking oh I have to tell Mom and realize I can’t just pick up the phone anymore.

She does live through my sister though. They were very much alike.

Before my Mom passed she promised she would visit us by way of a monarch butterfly. Many a family gathering we would see a lone large monarch come through stopping near each person. That is the reason I have the butterfly to navigate my website. I love to keep her energy with me for good luck.Todd Silva has a great blog and video where a Monarch transforms. Watch it here.

It’s so powerful to watch. Miracles always are.

Here’s a poem my sister wrote that I want to share with you:

Happiness is a Butterfly.

I stopped & realized my cocoon was oh so tight,

It took some will & all my might,

To unravel my wings & take to flight

The beauty & colour a magnificent sight

So FLY, FLY, FLY across the sky.

For all to see

Say, Yes this is me

Iā€™m the best I can be

DL, Toronto

I want to say how blessed I am too that my earth mom Dorothy came into my life when she did. She brought Love and Light and spiritual guidance when I needed it most. She is a gifted brilliant artist and a way ahead of her time.

And last but not least sending blessings out to my mother-in-law. Happy Mothers Day Joan. Thank you for welcoming me into the family.

So I will leave you today with a quote:

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.” Abraham Lincoln

Until we meet again, Sharon
