Mom – We will Remember you.
Hello my dear blog Friends. I hope this blog finds you shining your light for all to see. I must tell family when reading this you might want a kleenex.
August 7th is the tenth year anniversary of my Mom’s passing. She was born in 1927 and died in 1999. I wanted to dedicate this blog to her. Doesn’t the last one look like there is a spirit beside her? I wonder who it was.
Below is a picture of my Mom’s Family. Her Mom and brothers and sisters.
Ten Years. Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday that our wonderful Mom decided it was time for her to go to the other side. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think of her. When I’m trying to make a decision I will always hear the song we played at her funeral “I will Remember You” by Sarah McLachlan or I see a wonderful Monarch. (See Blog on Mom and Butterflies.) She always gives me an answer when I ask.
When I see my family I see how she lived on through them. Here we all are.
My older brother takes after my Mom in that he is extremely kind and family oriented. He is also the sensitive one out of all of us. My Mom was very sensitive. Being the oldest I think my Mom shared a lot with him. I think they endured the “hard” years together when times were tough. (Although my Mom is looking pretty happening in the picture below.)
They worked together for many years. My Mom was very proud of us all but I think she had a little extra pride in my eldest brother. I think he got his respect for work and providing for his family from my Mom. We would always joke that he was her favorite. I don’t really think she had a favorite though as she could love us all differently as we were all so different.
My sister takes after my Mom in her need to travel and experience the wonderful adventures that the world has to offer. She also wears her heart on her sleeve like Mom and works hard in her job and is always there for others. My sister has a quick wit too. I’m not sure if that is as much from my Dad as my Mom although my Mom was funny but serious in her ways. My sister was probably her best friend. They were so close. Travel buddies. They went everywhere together. It’s strange though I never felt left out or second or anything when it came to the daughter department. It was more like they just were soul sisters somehow.
Here is a picture of my Mom and older Brother and Sister.
My other Brother was really close to my Mom. He lived in Peterborough with her while the others lived in Toronto. Losing our Dad was really hard on my Brother and it doubled when my Mom passed. He would be reminded every day of her not being there. My Brother takes after my Mom in that he would do anything for anyone. He just gives and gives and he does it from a special place in his heart like Mom.
Me I think I had an odd kinship with my Mom. She was always there for me and I knew as long as she was there I was never alone. She is still there I know but its not the same as having her a phone call away. I think my being sick when I was young and being the youngest gave me this bond of protection from my Mom. I was totally spoiled by her. I really believe when she passed over that she sent me my husband to be with me as I was alone many years after my divorce. I don’t think she wanted me to be alone without her. God is good.
I don’t have a picture of my Mom and my brother and I but I found this one of us. Too cute.
We did share one thing in common among us and that was our love for our Mom and when she left she took a little piece of each of our hearts with her.
She welcomed the “inlaws” like they were her own children and I know her passing was as much a loss to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law as it was to all us. Here’s a photo of them to share in this blog.
My Mom never tolerated a fighting family. If one of us even thought of turning on each other she would be in our face. I guess that’s why we all have a great respect for each other. Sure we are all different (me probably being the oddest) but we all get along and love each other. When I hear of families fighting with each other it freaks me out a bit. You only get one family why would you fight? Blood is much thicker than water.
We weren’t sure if Mom knew she was sick. She never told any of us until she was in extreme pain. My sister says there is no way she knew because of the 3P’s. When asked what the 3P’s were she said she ordered a new 5 year passport, got a perm and got her ears pierced. Maybe she knew maybe she didn’t. We will never know.
We always had tons of fun growing up. We weren’t rich and there were some tough times before I was born but we were always fishing or at a someone’s cottage. There was never a dull moment.
Mom was an amazing Grandmother. Here is some pictures of her gorgeous grandchildren. (Hmm check out my son top left pulling his brothers hair. Too funny.)
She never did get to be a Great Grandmother on Earth but I’m sure she is enjoying the privilege in Spirit. Here are her great grandchildren. How proud she must be.
Here’s a crazy picture of us all in the back yard of our house. See my blog for more details on why there was a boat in our back yard. Molly our family dog is right there in the action like always.
Mom left us quickly. We found out one day and two weeks later she was gone from us. One day she was planning a family wedding and then immediately in the hospital so they could maintain her pain. She died of ovarian cancer the night of the wedding. I remember seeing Mom’s in spirit on the dance floor and I said “Mom passed over”. I knew she would show up if she passed over that night for the dancing she loved to dance and sing. She absolutely loved Patsy Cline.
Here’s a funny picture of when we were young of her dancing up a storm with my sister in the background my Grandma looking on wondering probably what is going on here and my Dad on the couch. Check out the furniture. Lots of other dancing photos too!
Her sister sat with her while we went to the wedding. My sister never left her side from the moment she found out except for that night.
I’m sure my Mom would have planned it that way. Sort of how Mother Teresa snuck out at the same time as Lady Diana and how Farrah Fawcett snuck out with Michael Jackson. She didn’t like a fuss and would have wanted it that way.
Mom was such a trooper. She really was. She loved my Dad through thick and thin. She was truly hardy stock my Mom. My Dad was quite a handsome rogue in his day wasn’t he.
My Mom made friends’ wherever she went as she always had a smile on her lovely face. She would help anyone. It was just who she was.
Below is when my Mom’s many friends threw her a shower when we moved into our new home. It was a great idea they all brought a different kind of china cup. I always remember them in their cabinet the different colours and each one different and beautiful in their own unique way.
My sister Diane is gifted in the Poem department and wrote the following for us to remember Mom. It’s funny it reminds me of a Monarch transformation the way it is written.

Some people are just so amazingly creative. Aren’t they?
Good luck to City Cottage in her exciting new endeavor.

3 commentsBraids – Taya Another Little Earth Angel
Hello Everyone. Good morning to you. It sure looks delicious out there.
Just did my morning news review and I came across the sweetest story.
This little earth Angel Taya was at a reading by Robert Munsch and he gave her a story as she reminded him of a character.
Taya took this one step further seeing a chance to help the Children of Bukati with Aids and Braids was born.
How proud we should all be of this little Earth Angel that took something good that happened to her and shared it with the world.
I believe that is the sign of a born healer. Allowing things to happen and then taking that one thing and instead of keeping it all for themselves transforming it into healing for others. It’s a brave and selfless thing to do. It can move mountains and surely change the world as we know it.
God bless you Taya and Robert Munsch.
I love Robert Munsch. Interestingly yesterday Bobby and I were at Chapters and we saw the book Love you Forever. I remember when my boys were little reading that book over and over and over to them. It would bring a tear to me every time. When he snuck back in and held his mother. OMG I’m tearing up even now just talking about it.
I used to sing it to them
♫ ♪ “I’ll love you forever…….my baby you’ll be.”♫ ♪
Bobby said do you remember how to sing it and I sung it to him.
Let’s all send prayers for Mr. Munsch’s healing as I understand he is not well at the moment.
Here’s the Article link and here’s how to buy the book. All proceeds go to help. How cool is that?
Thank you Taya for the light you are sharing with the world.

Shhh I’m Manifesting my Castle
Hello my Dear Friends. What’s new in your world?
Things here are quiet yet have the feeling of something coming on the wind. Oh that sounded so much like the movie Chocolate. If you haven’t seen it make sure you do. An amazing movie. Well what Johnny Depp movie isn’t good. Did you see he has a new one coming out. OO la la.
Oops I always get off track don’t I. Mr. Depp does that to me.
Why I’m writing today is that every day I get a quote from Abraham. You can sign up here.
The eerie part is they are sometimes exactly what you need to hear that day. Well I guess not eerie but more serendipitous.
Today’s quote was:
“When you understand the Laws, then you understand that it is not more difficult to create a castle than it is a button. They are equal. It is not more difficult to create $10 million than $100,000. It is the same application of the same Law to two different intentions.” Abraham
After reading that I thought I’m taking my intentions up a bar or so. “I have a castle with $10 million in the bank.” Oh ya.
I guess why it doesn’t work sometimes is that my mind or ego immediately giggles its head off saying “sure honey and don’t forget the moat to keep all your riches in”. Hmm, maybe I need a little more work.

1 commentSome People are Just so Much Fun!
Hello Dear Blog Friends.
The summer is surely bouncing along nicely isn’t it? I’m having a hard time getting things done but I’m having tons of fun.
Energy seems to be on hold for some reason. There is a calm feeling lurking around.
I just noticed the “e” on my keyboard is stuck. Hmm. Probably a sun flower seed cover. I’m totally addicted to those things. I can’t stop eating them notwithstanding the damage they do. I’m sure Bobby won’t be amused at this. I’m finding it humorous though for some odd reason.
I knew I should have bought one of those rubber things that go on the keyboard. Just kidding. They creep me out. Kind of like those plastic covers they used to put on the sofa. Euew.
Anyway why I am writing today has nothing to do with sunflower seeds.
I found a site and the woman is so great. Her energy is just lovely. I took her free class last night and I so enjoyed it.
Her name is Rebecca Marina and you can find her site here.
When you sign up for her newsletter you get a free book that is really interesting. She even mentions Vimala whom I of course adore and have talked about before in other blogs.
The illustration work on her site is so cute and fun. The energy being so light it makes you forget about problems.
Laughter I’m sure pushes our energy up a few degrees.
So have a visit and let me know what you think. She is lovely and is always giving.
The quote today has been replaced by a story:
“A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. “I’ve been thinking.” he said, “I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone.” The Wise Woman’s Stone – Author Unknown

3 commentsHappy Birthday Bro. and the Power of Forgiveness
Good Morning my Wonderful Blog Friends. Beautiful Day isn’t it. Thank you, thank you, thank you to our Creator.
Today is my Brothers’ birthday. You can learn more about my great brother friend here.
I am so lucky and totally blessed to have such a wonderful family. We all get along and have each others’ backs.
Sometimes I hear when doing readings of people that don’t talk to their family about some silly argument. They spend their lifetime holding a grudge. What for?
I was talking to my friend and she said she was angry at someone for a long long time and she stopped to think about why she was angry at them and she couldn’t remember. She thought it was hilarious and I said well then you can let it go and she said not on your life. I’m thinking though as it was all expressed in humour that it was already released. She was just being funny.
Bobby is somewhat like that he holds onto things sometimes.
That is one thing I am learning about reading about Tithing is that things like that block the flow. Holding onto anger doesn’t affect the other person in the least it only affects you. The other person wins (although they probably have long forgotten) twice. Once by getting away with whatever they did (although everything is divinely guided) and wins again by that block that we allow ourselves to hold onto that stops our flow. Every time you relive the moment the block gets harder and more stuck.
Everyone wants to stir their cauldron many times in their life but we have to remember that forgiveness is such a blessing. It’s hard but remember you are not changing the other person you are only changing yourself. Forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves.
Have a happy happy day my Brother and may your year be filled with abundance, good health and tons of fun.
Quote for you:
“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” Rev. Catherine Ponder
How so very serendipitous, this quote was first on my list as it said everything I wanted the quote to say and Rev. Catherine Ponder is one of the leading experts on Tithing.
Here’s another that was equally as powerful:
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” Lewis B. Smedes

No commentsMerrily We Roll Along.
Hello Dear Blog Friends. How are you this wonderful night? I pray you are surrounded with God’s good blessings.
I had a fun day today. My sons and I went for a short trip to visit my brother in Peterborough.
It was a lovely drive there. Ok the rap music was a bit trying but I’m learning to go with it. I would have much more loved to listen to the soundtrack of Practical Magic or some of my music but I am open to new things.
I thought we might be in trouble when my older boy said as he was sitting in the back (my younger boy said shotgun before him) I’m bored back here. I knew something was coming soon. I had to just hold my breath and wait. He loves to entertain us.
So I’m driving merrily along when I look back and almost pulled off the road I was laughing so hard. My older boy (now keep in mind he is 27) has on my winter sock monkey hat with the strings tied up underneath his chin in a big bow. I really shouldn’t be mentioning his age because it is my hat after all and I’m 51. It is a full sock monkey head ears and all. One of my personal favourites. Once I had it on and the gas attendant just wanted me out of the store. I didn’t realize my whole winter hat collection was back there (I love funky hats) because all the way there he was trying on the different hats keeping us entertained for miles.
Boys will be boys.
I read a really great book today called Giving Thanks The Art of Tithing by Paula Langguth Ryan. It is an interesting subject for sure. I have always been intrigued but couldn’t quite get the whole “give to a structured religion type thing”. It’s really nothing to do with that. The whole idea is to create a vacuum for abundance to arrive while at the same time remembering that God (Universe) is our supply. We think nothing of handing over 50% of our taxes to the government yet we forget a simple exercise that will bring abundance and freedom into our life. Getting started is scary but it has an element of fun too and the rewards are plentiful.
If we practice Give Away a Dollar a Day we know this to be true.
I’ll keep you posted on my adventure.
I’m always onto something.
So that’s it for now my Friends. Have a great night.

2 commentsWhat kind of Car will I drive 7 years from now?
Hi Everyone.
Last night I agreed to do a birthday party for my friends’ sisters’ youngest daughter.Happy Birthday Natalie.
I forgot how much energy 11 year old’s have. I was exhausted.
Obviously you have to be careful when talking to young people and most of what you say is basically trying to inspire them to be everything they want to be but the questions came at me 90 miles an hour. All the same….
What will I be when I grow up?
Will I be successful?
Will I get married?
What will he look like?
What’s his name?
How many children will I have?
What will they be like?
What are my childrens’ names?
What kind of car will I drive?
Will I be rich?
Will I have a dog?
The questions were hilarious. I stressed that we all have free will and nothing I said should influence them in any way as things change, etc.I kept my answers brief and asked back many questions of them to get them thinking about what their dreams are.
It reminded me of when I went to a High School to talk to a classes on World Religion. I’m glad I prepared myself when I did that because kids today are just so smart. They had every angle coming at me. It was fun though and reminded me the great minds that are here today.

1 commentHappy Birthday to Michael.
Hello my Friends.
Today my son Michael celebrates his 20th birthday.
I’m so happy he chose me as his Mother. It has been my honour. Getting to know him as an adult these last few months has been his gift to me.
He asked me the other day why I picked the name Michael. It was strange but I knew the moment I was told I was pregnant with him that his name was Michael.
He has proven again and again the strength of my favourite Saints’ name.
God Bless you my Dear son. Now go out there and change the world.

1 commentMemories of Princess.
Hello Everyone. Another glorious day. I just remembered I have to get my snow tires off. There is going to be no tread left. That would be $500 gone quickly.
My son and I are together a lot now and we reminisce about old times.
The other day we were in the car and talking about all the houses we have lived in and our different pets etc. Then we started talking about Princess and laughing our heads off. Princess has been in spirit for a long time God love her. She was a beautiful caramel coloured Cocker Spaniel.
Princess wasn’t really our dog but the neighbour’s dog. Well yes these neighbours are close friends as we lived there for many many years. We share many a memory between our kids and animals. The kids are all friends to this day.
Princess for some reason loved to come in our house and poop right in the middle of our living room on the hard wood floor. As horrifying as it was funny I can only imagine how awful it was for our friends when we told them each time.
Princess didn’t get out much but if we had the door open it was a given. I’m exaggerating it only happened a few times but wait the story gets better.
After we moved away I guess the new neighbours left their door open and you guessed it, Princess ran in their house and pooped in the same place.
OMG can you imagine the horror on our friends’ faces? Our friends are such a lovely people and she embarrasses so easily so I can only imagine the trauma of it.
Things like that crack me up. You know someone up there has a little chess game in order to do these things. We couldn’t think of it if we tried. You almost know there is beer in heaven in order to think these things up.
Here’s another Princess story. Once when our friends were away they left the second storey window open for air in the bathroom and were gone the whole day. Princess (even in her old age) got on the toilet pushed the screen and jumped out the second storey window. Thank goodness she wasn’t hurt. She was running all over though and we noticed and brought her in. They were so surprised when they got home. She was such an adventurous dog. I wonder what she’s doing now.
So that’s it for today. God bless Princess and I hope everyone up there are keeping their front door closed.
